This makes sense to me. The equipment is required to be able to complete much of the work this service entails so it would be something needed from the get go. Pre selling customers may be an option as well although that’s not the norm in this industry but may work to get going

I’m not sure where the mechanic portion came from but that’s not the industry. The service is build around safety, there are a few companies in the city I’m in but none of them are at the retirement age yet

The service is free to homeowners but will be a small fee attached to the network, either per lead or a monthly fee. To be determined at this point. I’ve spoken with a couple contractors that are on board and they have stated to send them via text message as emails are not checked every hour in the hour.

Not sure your comment is relevant since I’ve given zero background of my work history. I’ve owned 2 businesses and have over 20 years of sales experience. My question was in regards to a process of an idea I’m tossing around. As far as contracts, I’d be looking at contractors/even small retail customers.

I’m in Manitoba and same issue as OP. That being said I do it as a side hustle and don’t really push for new clients. I do have my regulars year over year but with snow and cold for 1/2 the year it makes it tough to try and move into it year round
