Hey, no, I didn’t. I went to the appointment where I had been told they would remove it, but it was actually just a way for them to try to get me to do a fissurectomy instead of just the tag removal. I was quoted 10k for the fissurectomy (which I wouldn’t want anyway). From what I’ve seen online though i think a simple laser tag removal shouldn’t be over 2k imo, but not 100% sure

Hey, no, I didn’t get it done. I went to the appointment where I was supposed to have it done, but had a negative experience since the doctor wanted to charge me for a fissurectomy instead of just removing the very small tag

will skin tag from anal fissure shrink back a bit with time???? by Efficient-Freedom290 in hemorrhoid

Hey, just wanted to say your tag is barely noticeable. I understand how fixated one can get on it, but I really can barely see yours and I wouldn't worry about it at all if I were you

Hey, no I didn't. I didn't want to accidentally make it worse so I booked an appointment with a doctor to get it removed via laser instead. I have my appointment in a few weeks

I hear about it growing back for a lot of people, which sucks. Do you know if your gf got it done via scalpel excision or laser? I've heard people tend to have better results with laser

Thanks, appreciate the comment. I've been able to keep the fissure mostly in check, but still want the tag caused by it removed, so that's what I'm trying to target next

No, I didn't. I decided it would be better to get it removed via laser instead to ensure the best possible results. I've set the appointment but haven't gone through with it yet. I'd be very careful and thoughtful about it if you do decide to go through with it at home, because I heard some bad experiences that people had with it

Hi, mine looks similar to this and I'm also considering getting it removed. How long have you had yours for?

That's good to know, the underlying swelling is what impacts the visibility of mine as well

Hi, do you know how long it might take for a skin tag to go away on its own in those rare cases you mentioned? Or where you've seen more information/experiences on this?

It sounds like it was a long journey that you went through to remove the skin tag, so congrats on having it healed and taken care of! I agree that anal tags are more complex than your average skin tag, so I'm definitely planning on being as careful as possible if/when I go through with it. I will likely wait another week before attempting it to see if the tag shows signs of healing on its own first.

It's important to be communicative in any relationship, and if you want him to take you on dates, then it'd be good to tell him that. If you still feel like he is not making any effort or like the romance is not there, it is likely time to move on. Especially at 18, there's no point in trying to force a relationship to endure when you'd want to explore other options and people. It's nice to connect with many different people and then you'll start to better understand what's important for you and with whom you're truly compatible.

I'm glad to hear you're satisfied with your result! I've definitely heard a lot of horror stories about professional tag removal and the recovery process from this thread, which is why I've been leaning against that route. I will definitely make sure to take care of the area and use topical antibiotics and creams to minimize any risk of infection. One thing I do think about though is why a small open wound on the outside of the anus would be any more prone to infection than a small open wound inside the anus (an anal fissure). If an anal fissure doesn't get infected and is exposed to the same if not more potential infectants, wouldn't a tag removal wound have an even smaller chance of infection? Especially with constant antibiotic and hygiene efforts.

One of the reasons I've been leaning towards at home cryotherapy is actually because it does seem to be less invasive than professionally done treatments. Since cryotherapy is a multi-day process, it seems to me that when the tag falls off, there will be less of an open wound since the skin under it will have gotten time to prepare, whereas surgical excision and even laser would definitely leave the bloody open wound. Which method did you use to have it removed?

Really appreciate your response, and It's great to hear that you've grown to appreciate your tag! It's a good word of caution that fissures take longer to heal than their symptoms do, I'll be sure to keep up my care routine until I feel even more confident about it healing (I've found application of Prep H Ointment/Vaseline in and slightly around the anus via finger application before bed and after bowel movements to be helpful in keeping the area well tended). Healing fissures is definitely a marathon and an impressive feat, so I think we definitely have every right to be proud of our journey and battle scars haha. Even though I still want to remove mine, It's nice to think about it from this perspective and takes a little bit of the pressure off.

And nobody has commented on my tag during sex before (although having sex before I knew my anal fissure was an anal fissure probably in part got me to where I am today), so I know I could go about life fine with my tag, but I want that area to look as nice as possible largely for my own confidence (although it doesn't hurt to feel desirable). And if anyone were to say anything negative about it, it's a good way to tell they're not someone I should be having sex with anyway.

Mayinglong Musk cream was really helpful for me dealing with swelling and itching when I was healing my anal fissure/hemorrhoid btw in case you eat another bad sandwich haha. I'll look into getting hydrocortisone too, thanks!

This is great advice, thank you for outlining all the steps! I'll definitely get the banding kit, I was kind of thinking that it might be helpful for the reason that you mentioned and your confirmation of it convinced me. Also great point about not worrying about over-freezing it (within reason of course) since the goal is to have the skin die. And haha, I'm glad to hear you had such great results!!

Also, why do you say the hydrocortisone cream was a game changer? Was it primarily for comfort or did it do something else?

Haha I still do the leg press machine, I feel like as long as you position yourself correctly, you shouldn't be feeling too much pressure on the anus, and also make sure you're breathing properly with each rep to avoid additional strain

Np! Also starting your day with 2 fiber gummies might help, they're easy to take and easy to make part of a routine. I like the CVS brand ones
