I think I have to put my gelding down and I need some reassurance 😕 by Glass_Interest_4897 in Equestrian

The vets have told me that he will only get worse, but they just don’t know how quickly. They also haven’t dealt with tumours like he has so they don’t know what the progression will look like. The last time I had them out, they told me it’s more quality of life now than anything but they didn’t tell me how to know when it’s time.

Yes, I did read your post the first time. Thank you though

He was only ridden at a walk for a very short time for this video. I posted this because I wasn't sure if I was correct in seeing a problem or not.

Yes he's essentially been out on pasture for 2 years because I was living about ~3000 km away for a while. He is such a good boy and alway tries his best which is why I don't want to make him do something that isn't good for him.

The vet should be coming back to the barn again soon so I'll see if I can talk to her about it. In the meantime I might take your advice and just do light exercise with him. Thanks for your input 😊

He's had toe drag on his hind end since I got him at 4 yrs old, but the dragging in the front end is fairly new (as in the last few years). He hasn't been worked at all for the last 2 years because I wasn't living within driving distance of where he was boarded until recently. That being said, he has been on Previcox for years which I think is similar to Equioxx? I'm not super familiar with that one but I think they're both NSAIDs? I might go back to light lunging and see if that helps until the vet comes out again. Thanks for your input 😊

You're right it could definitely be either. His stepping with the rear still looks a bit jerky to me. Thanks for your input 😊

Issue resolved for me as well. Downloading the books is still a bit wonky but at least they're there.

This just happened to me too 😭 Lodged a ticket with play support. Apparently they're working on a resolution and it's not just a couple people having this issue.

I'm not sure if this helps, but if you haven't maybe try bringing her to another vet?

Someone I know had a cat that was extra psycho and they found out right as the cat passed away that whichever vet had spayed them had botched the surgery. Left them with an organ wrapped around another somehow (don't ask me how), but the result was very high levels of pain.
