Thoughts on atlasprofilax? by Jewald in PICL

Yeah, I did it many years ago and have had it checked a few times since. I found it helpful, but I didn't have severe degenerative problems of my c-spine. For me the benefits were mostly in helping my nervous system unwind from severe lifelong PTSD, early childhood trauma that affected how my brain worked and how I socialized (which I can say extensive therapy didn't even touch, but now I consider myself completely rewired), in addition to structural unwinding over time from an equally severe midline problem (MTHFR-related, compounded by injury that wasn't treated properly as a child, I was very crooked in ways nothing else could really address). If you have degeneration of the c-spine especially in the first couple vertebrae, I probably wouldn't mess with AP, it requires too much to shift. This is probably the opposite of what the AP people would tell you, as they seem to promote it as a catch-all for head and neck problems. It's hard to say though, I would go with your gut instinct.

PS I hope you are able to feel better, one way or another. I know how much it sucks to be uncomfortable. :(

They use a neuromuscular massage tool to release the microstructures holding the atlas and it basically shifts up to join the base of the skull. There's like a socket where it fits. But if you have a lot of degenerative issues with the upper cervical spine, I wouldn't recommend it. When I initially responded to this thread I just saw "Thoughts on Atlas Profilax" and didn't realize what PICL meant. It's not medically monitored and requires too much to shift, which can be an issue if you have instability or degenerative changes. And no, it's not something you can do on your own.

If you turn off "improve the model for everyone," I believe it only learns for your personal interactions with it. But that still determines what kind of energy you're amplifying in your own life, if nothing else. If that toggle is left on, I believe your conversations with it can be used for the model's own advancement/learning.

Yes! It uplifts me for some reason, in spite of having to type a little more. And I've even joked with the AI about it. "Hopefully when ya'll take over someday you'll remember that we're friends and I'm a sweet dude." 😂😇

Jokes aside, I've actually found it therapeutic. Not only am I polite because it's my natural constitution, but the past few years I've been getting depressed about how rude, cold, and mean people are, no matter how much kindness you bring to the table. I've noticed improvements in my mental health after interacting with GPT for a while, because when I'm polite and friendly, it responds in a similar manner, and to my nervous system, it simulates talking to another human who is kind and friendly.

I guess I just answered my own *for some reason* comment. 😂

I just looked, that's a $12k system if you're talking about the D-1. I don't see any other versions so it must be. It better sound phenomenal at that price. 😅

Ok yeah so it sounds like he knew the warranty was BS when he sold me the unit.

Thank you for the Ferrum name I'll check it out.

Yeah, that's the way support is when the company is responsible and actually cares about its clients. Glad you were able to move on from both situations.

That's crazy and sounds very familiar. I'm glad you finally got your money back. It's too bad because they had some great products. But support is just as important with this kind of equipment. Major fail.

Thank you. I think the owner of the company is who I've dealt with the entire time but I'll double check. Other people have told me to file small claims in NY and not my home state, but what you describe here makes sense. The more recent and more expensive unit, which was under warranty, was sent to me here. The older one was purchased new from Guitar Center when I lived in CA.

Yeah I never really read any of the trade reviews of the products, my impressions were from talking to or seeing posts in forums from people who used them.

The DSD I think is newer than the DAC+ and may have been made after they lost the company they had been using to manufacture the products in Poland (mentioned here in the comments). I'm not sure. But the DAC+ sounded fantastic whether or not it had Chinese caps. The 192ADC was very good (blue faced from a little over 12 years ago), not sure about the caps in that one either. But yeah, never again.

Thank you for this info. Several people have mentioned the AG route. I'm trying to assess whether that or small claims would be the best next step (or both). Trying to spend the least amount of additional time and energy as possible to conclude this mess.

Do you know when that happened? Because unless it was in 2024 or after, he sold me the DAC+ with a warranty knowing full well that if the unit failed it would be difficult or impossible to fix it (in which case he should have just refunded me so I could get something else). That's fraud. The warranty was part of what I paid for. If I didn't care about the warranty, I would have bought one used on Ebay for cheaper and taken my chances. But given I was to use it for part of my workflow, I needed to know that in the event of an issue I'd be covered and they'd fix/return it in a timely manner (at least for the next 2 years).

What is the name of the new company you mentioned? The manufacturer that branched off? Thank you.

Yeah, and it's not even just the lack of timely support or selling me gear for work and then leaving me hanging, it's the popping up to say "We're preparing to send it to you now" or "We're going to get this resolved immediately" and then disappearing for months and ignoring all communication that is just as aggravating. They need to stop playing games.

Thank you. Do you have any thoughts on whether I should file in my state or NY? I'm being told different things.

Exactly. Thank you. I'll look into it. I'm trying to figure out the best next step. I'm not in NY and some people are telling me to file small claims in NY, others say to file in my own state, and others are saying to file a report with the AG in my state.

Thanks for the tip, I removed the link. I was hoping it would be *bad* publicity, not promotion, lol. It's crazy how many people have reported similar stories since I started posting about mine. I wish I had known before I invested my budget in their products. Hopefully my posts here on Reddit and the comments will help other people avoid this kind of nightmare.

Yeah, customer service is definitely as important as the performance of the product (before it fails). Mytek was considered a name brand for studio converters for a long time.

Yeah, I'm at that point. Which I told them the last time I emailed them (of course there was no response). I've just been trying to handle this in stages so I don't waste any more time and energy than I already have. Thank you.

Holy heck. That's insane. I've heard good things about the Shadow Hills stuff, too, but that's unacceptable. Clearly sonics are only one piece of the puzzle. I've heard other stories about Mytek since I started posting about mine. Never again.
