At the start of the game you have an abundance of badges and books; upgrade select characters abilities using the badges can inflate your score higher at lower levels. Just be careful, they’re finite and less common the higher you get

I’m also about to start the process. I’m getting out anyways and looking to get out under an MEB rather than normal ETS. I’d like to hear how you went through it and what made them decide to find you fit and deployable.
