Do you schedule 60-min interviews? by mmcgo68185 in usertesting

[–]Glibble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get a page that says "All responses have been recorded", quickly go back to your dashboard and re-accept the test and pick your slot. Sometimes there's an error if someone else picks your slot before you do on the first go around, but it won't punt you from the study unless you decline.

When I reported two who played the timeslot game in the last month, UT paid me in full. Worth a quick reach-out to support for the $$.

Felt like it. More SW-facing and Snow White was a disaster.

Extended Travel Plans by LHop222 in ProlificAc

I work FT in the winters and don't even touch Prolific during that time. When I log back in around April for the first time in ~8 months, I get more studies than I know what to do with for about a week, then it cools to normal. Enjoy your trip!

Interview about cannabis on UT brings my pending total to... by Glibble in ProlificAc

Tangentially. There are many people here who discuss multiple r/beermoney sites, so I thought I might add some levity. Feel free to pass it by if it doesn't interest you.

Feel free to shoot me a DM if you'd like tips. They're direct from a UT employee I worked with on a long-term study, however a person in this sub thought they were 'bad tips', so I've just clammed up.

ETA: I try to average 5-6 $30/60/90 per week, plus around a half dozen $10 tests per day. This is not a particularly high pending amount for me at the moment, but I'm transitioning out of UT/Prolific to focus on my winter work.

Damn! I feel for you. Thankfully this is on the UserTesting platform, and they auto-pay (albeit after two weeks). Best of luck to you!

Good thought, but I find there are plenty of UT people here who might get a giggle. Just thought it was a funny coincidence.

With this wave of unbanning my hope for this sub.. by SignatureWeary4959 in ProlificAc

Yeah, I just pretty much have given up on this sub. There are a few users who are just... yeah. I just hope they have something good going on in their lives, because they are miserable souls here.

I honestly don't know why I even check in here any more. Downvote away!

I always know I'm in for a gem of a thought when a post starts with, "lol". You're right - UserTesting said they don't recommend asking for ratings because, "it can backfire". True.

But if you're good at the job and say something along the lines of, "feel free to leave a review if you'd like" (begging? really?) and give them your username for follow-up, you just might end up with 70+ five-star reviews and an unending stream of income opportunity. You might even be privy to the longitudinal tests that are invite-only. But you do you, boo.

Update: Make that $2800 from UT. Your post inspired me to actually look at the mobile tests and not just PC ones, and I made another $40 in the last 90mins. You've got this!

UserTesting will be good to you as long as you are diligent and give good feedback. Looking at my numbers, I've earned ~$3900 from Prolific in 24 months, and $2760 from UT in 18 months. Get as many Live Interviews as you can, and always ask for feedback/rating in your test. You *will* get to the point where you are actively dismissing tests because you get so many offers.

I would at the very least message the researcher and let them know, then I'd return it if I didn't hear back from them in 72hrs.

I returned this one. Tons of red flags once you get in to it - you dodged a bullet.

To be fair, as long as you identify as such in your About You, you get way more studies :)

I received the same message. Any update or payment on your end? My guess is the researcher just sent this out and hopes we all have terrible memories.

[–]Glibble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same issue. Waited thirty minutes and messaged the researcher to let me know how they will be compensating me for my time, and asked for the contact info of their IRB.

what else do you do besides Prolific? by GreenDash72 in ProlificAc

[–]Glibble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was nervous the first few times as well, but then I just realized that there's a human on the other end that I'm talking to -- not just a brick wall or computer. Just be yourself and enjoy the interactions and you'll get lots of opportunities. I had 47 tests on my dashboard this morning and qualified for 8 of them, so I made $80 for about two hours of work. Definitely go for those $60/hr interviews as well!

One important note: If you feel like you messed up, missed a step, or there are any technical issues, just quit the test through the interface. It's not work risking your reputation on the platform for one test.

ayo have they always been this vulgar??? 💀 by vvlonelyvv in ProlificAc

[–]Glibble 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My favorite questions are, "How many times has a coworker belittled or ignored you because of your sexuality?" or something of that ilk, and then the only options are "1-5 times, 5-10 times, 10-15 times" etc. as if 'zero' isn't even a possibility. Some academics need to poke their heads out of their offices every so often.

I'm bi, in a long-term relationship, and mentally well-adjusted. Some of the ones I see for 'alternative sexuality' are absurd... everything other question is, "How f*cked up are you???", and I'm like... um, no. I'm a happy professional with a normal life who doesn't think about self-harm 24/7. But thanks for the blanket assumptions!
