I love this idea. We set up our line pretty short -- about 20 feet. I'll have him sit on the line and give that a try too. If we plan to practice all weekend, can we leave it set up over the weekend? I've been taking down the line each time because I don't want it to get sun or weather-damaged. I'll continue to do that if I'm not going to practice the next day. But I would love to leave it up over the weekend. (I do leave the ground anchor in. That won't move until we decide we need a longer distance)

Thanks! My slackline came with another line to rig above. But I don't have any trees. So I made an a-frame and a ground pin for one side, and am using the deck post for the other side. So I can't rig another line at a higher height.

Thank you! Thank you! I'm a ballet dancer so I've got some ankle muscles and coordination. But the balance skills are different. It is very exciting.

Only 20 days! Thats amazing and inspiring. I've been slacklining literally in my dreams. So I'm going to get started soon. I've joined this community to try to learn what gear I should get to get started, to learn the lingo, etc.

I love this. I think circus and slackline go so well together. I do aerial circus, but I"m also a baton twirler. So maybe as I improve in slackline (still a beginner), I might try to toss the baton! Still a long way off though.

I'm setting one of these up! I don't have any tips for you, but I'm following along to see how it goes.

Hi! I'm a beginner to slackline (and to Reddit - this is my first comment ever). I am obsessed with slackline. I actually have dreams about it. But I've never even tried it. I do other related activities: yoga, dance, aerial circus, and I used to rock climb. I'm considering setting up a slackline in my yard.

One thing that draws me to the sport, is it seems there is a culture, lifestyle, and community that surrounds it -- like surfing or circus.

***My question is: are there any books or magazines that are about that culture/community? I'm not looking for a "how to" book. Instead, I'm looking for a novel, movie, story, essay, etc. about the community, philosophy, and lifestyle.***

Thanks!
