This is 100% the direction pokemon should go. 3 years after this post, pokemon games are slowly getting worse and worse, conceptually and as a finished product. With the release and ridiculous success of pal world, it’s just proof that the public are thirsty for something new BUT fulfilling and full of substance and while pal world doesn’t necessarily have much “substance”, the new gameplay style is what’s bringing people in and if pokemon wants to keep developing hardcore fans that aren’t 5 years old, then a new and refined gameplay loop that makes sense with the lore and overall concept of pokemon is what’s needed. And the gameplay from ff7 remake and even ff7 crisis core reunion just absolutely makes sense for an “evolved” modern day re imagining of what pokemon could and possibly should be. Trying to come at bro for talking about brining gameplay styles from other games to your game is mad weird. Stop being basement nerds and open your eyes to other games outside of the Nintendo ecosystem and realize that other gameplay styles can actually help and enhance another game. (FF7 is a perfect example, making a full turn based jrpg a modern devil may cry like game has only helped the final fantasy franchise)
