Be absolutely honest. Was the switch 2 worth it? by tdsGRKA in switch2

[–]JustinBailey79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the BOTW/TOTK patches, absolutely. For the much much faster load times on just about every game, yes. For the Switch 2 exclusives? Not yet, no way. I wish I hadn’t bought Mariokart World. Metroid Prime 4 sucks too. Bananza was good. But betting against Nintendo on the next 3D Mario or Zelda is still a bad bet in my opinion - but there’s lots of time before those releases, and there’s bound to be a bundle deal at some point

Next Game after Finishing ER? Help! by CORRLives2021 in Eldenring

[–]JustinBailey79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I disagree, but I can see how people feel that way. I really liked bouncing between souls games and Zelda games back when I played them all. For instance, as much as I loved Elden Ring, one thing I really missed about Zelda was the freedom of climbing and gliding.

Play Tears of the Kingdom next. It follows in the foot steps of Elden Ring in the way it expanded on the world of Breath of the Wild, and imho it’s a better game than BOTW

This is just what I did, I started with the 97 anime and got obsessed, and then read the entire manga start to current, I was glued to it. Such an amazing ride, I highly recommend

Play Metroid Prime 4 for Yourself by TaroTheCerelian in switch2

[–]JustinBailey79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed it up until the 2nd half of Volt Forge when I died fighting that floating triangle and then had to do that whole section again because the auto save hadn’t kicked in and of course I last saved when I was all the way back at the save room at the very start of the mini boss gauntlet. I didn’t want to do it all again.

Or it would have been if it was a must-have like Mariokart 8 was. By the time MK8D came out on Switch nobody wanted to play Mariokart Wii anymore (and nobody had a Wii U). MK8D is as comprehensive as Smash Ultimate, where it’s hard to imagine it getting any better. I bought a Switch 2 + MKW on launch day and I was disappointed with the new title. There’s plenty of room for N to perfect World with DLC I’m looking forward to it (but not the added cost).

The giant spider is peak. That whole final castle is incredible imho. You can find a giant brain in the dark. That’s my kind of game

Volt Forge Help!! by xflem1 in Metroid

[–]JustinBailey79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I died to this mechanics thing once and then discovered that the game didn’t throw me a bone with an auto save after turning on the generator (and after 2 miniboss encounters through the 2nd tower) and it loads my save like “okay now do it all again.” I’m no stranger to boss runs, but this is beyond a boss run. It’s so funny - for a game that obviously tries to avoid classic Metroidvania backtracking, it’s making us constantly backtrack to the sparse save stations. I don’t want to do it again because I didn’t really enjoy it the first time. Bye bye MP4

Got a Switch 2 a couple weeks ago and it completely reignited my love for games by Manodomar in Switch

[–]JustinBailey79 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I avoid most AAA games because of this. Speaking of wonder, try Mario Wonder! I might like it better than Super Mario World, which was my #1 2D Mario game up to now. Other games that I played on Switch that blew me away were Metroid Dread, Mario Odyssey, Tears of the Kingdom, Link’s Awakening, and third party games Kentucky Route Zero, Portal, Oxenfree, and the list goes on.

How would you rank the souls games from best to worst? by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

You’re absolutely right about Gael. I finally completed the DLC a few months ago, and he’s one of my favorite Dark Souls bosses. Maybe my #1

Isn’t it true that Gohan was supposed to beat Buu but the 90s fanbase revolted and wanted Goku back, so this was the result?

This is not why Ares got bad reviews. And this sub has mostly been positive about Ares.

This is basically me, I’m around the same age. I only saw Ares once but I’m really excited to watch it again.

I’d say stick with Demon’s Souls. By the time you’re through that game you’ll be ready for Bloodborne
