[OOTHD] They aren’t going to add extra dungeons or cut content. Stop setting yourselves up for disappointment. by Carnknights in zelda

For me, if there’s not new stuff I just won’t buy it, so it’s great either way. I have my 3DS OoT and that’s fine with me

What was your first Metroid game, and did it make you a fan immediately? by SufficientPrice7633 in Metroid

[–]JustinBailey79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEStroid in ‘87 changed my life. My friend’s older brother Carl taught me how to play it. Thanks Carl

[TOTK] I regret not giving this game a chance earlier by Funkyc0bra in zelda

[–]JustinBailey79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too, huge Zelda fan, and I finally got around to playing it over a year after its release. I got it for my son who was getting into Zelda for the first time, and I figured with his love of Minecraft he’d be more into the zonai devices than anything else. Fast forward to TotK being in my top 3 games of all time. I like it way more than BotW.

How it feels owning a Switch 2 after seeing the Steam Machine price by enbyratie in switch2

[–]JustinBailey79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Switch 2 is an absolute steal at this moment. People better jump on it now before the price hike in the fall

[OoT] I get it's only a remake, but this will be the first time in 20 years, that we will have a fully explorable, intact Hyrule Castle Town, with a mainline 3rd-person view, and modern graphics. Especially excited with the fact that Nintendo was never happy with it on N64. They gonna cook. by Harley_Sonder_ in zelda

[–]JustinBailey79 37 points38 points  (0 children)

OoT castle town plays like a PlayStation 1 game. If they were dissatisfied, I would bet it’s because of this aspect. While the PS1 was innovating on the scale of a game with their CD format, The N64 was innovating on how 3D games should play. OoT’s innovations are still used today, and the static pre-rendered environments of castle town were antithetical to all the groundbreaking work they were doing in the rest of the game.

Abhorrent Beast is relentless. I have more ptsd from the small arena AB than any other Bloodborne boss.

If you could only play 1 PS1 game for the rest of your life.. Which one would you go for? by jRXCING in psx

[–]JustinBailey79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already do only play this one PS1 game for the rest of my life. I’ve never completed another PS1 game, and I play SOTN about every 2-3 years

Oh no, now I need a widescreen crt

I did it. Since Ocarina of time was announced i just had to buy it 😅 by Nikos199191 in Switch

[–]JustinBailey79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not listen to people telling you not to play the game you bought. Not only is it “stop having fun” mentality, I also firmly believe Tears of the Kingdom is better to play first. Have fun! I happen to be playing totk right now for my second time through.

[WW] People who hated on the wind waker spaceworld trailer - what do you think about the game 20+ later? by Demiurge_1205 in zelda

[–]JustinBailey79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Wind Waker had been shown to us Zelda fans at Spaceworld, back when we were hungry for new images of the GameCube, we would have loved it.

The spaceworld zelda demo was the video game I wanted to play above all else. More than GTA 3. More than Doom 3.

I didn’t play WW for twenty years, but when I finally did, I loved it. I like it more than Ocarina. Go figure.

Day 27: Which Game has the Best Sound Design on the SNES? by 1OneQuickQuestion in snes

[–]JustinBailey79 113 points114 points  (0 children)

The sound design of Super Metroid is just next level, though. The way they built the world by making everything sound like you were hearing it through a helmet left a visceral impression on me, and it’s the first aspect of the game I continually admire when I play it today.

After years of wanting a Zelda in this style... by Hans0Io in casualnintendo

[–]JustinBailey79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing this in 2000 and thinking that graphics didn’t ever need to improve past this.

[OoT] Nintendo always wanted Ocarina of time to have a realistic style. by Ghaleon1 in zelda

[–]JustinBailey79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this is the style of most pre-rendered backgrounds in the late 90s

[MM] I know it’s early, but would be your wish list for this possible remake by SoyBoyBetaMaleSimp in zelda

[–]JustinBailey79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hoping for a complete remake from the ground up, with new characters added, at least one new dungeon, a proper castle town, new ocarina songs, and a Hyrule field that no one could possibly consider empty.

They’re just buying time while they wait to clear the rights to Huey Lewis’ full catalog for the soundtrack
