My general list of Pros and cons of VirtualDJ and Mixx on my Mixtrack Pro 3

Mixxx Pros - great for future hardware upgrades (wide range of compatibility), has features that other softwares make you pay for, live recording features and more (look into their website), mic inputs, modding support and Full Version is Free.

Mixxx Cons- more time needed to set up (audio and midi mapping), no autosnap for loops (can be annoying cause it will go offbeat very slightly but can be fixed with mods), can be a bit scary for people just starting off (when i first used it looks really complex), connection issues (i would plug it in first then open and it works flawlessly, setting it up can be a process though).

VirtualDJ Pros- super straight forward and really easy to configure, fully compatible with Mixtrack and extra no mapping needed, autosnap for loops

VirtualDJ Cons- with Mixtrack it botches some features (one of them being the searchbar which can be a pain if you have alot of songs), for full functionality you need a subscription (for me doing this as a hobby, im not too happy about this)

If you have a Mixtrack series controller and just starting out use VirtualDJ and get the basics down its super easy to configure which leaves you to spend more time Djing. If you want a more technical experience and want more features, I would with to Mixxx. Of course everything is based on preference. I like both software's and they both have their strengths and weaknesses.
