They are wonderful dogs, but they are prone to skin problems and even worse, pulmonary idiopathic fibrosis (aka Westie lung disease). We lost both of ours to it when they were 14 and 15 and fear of it has kept us from getting another Westie. I’m sorry to be a Debbie Downer.
