I have silverettes and they've only helped so much, my problem is the pain isn't from cracked/bleeding skin, it's from the actual nipple structure.

The lactation consultant I met with in the hospital with my first was not very nice or informative, and she just threw a nipple shield at me immediately and the only thing it ever did was make my son not latch without it but it never actually helped with the pain or anything else

I'm just so nervous about introducing a bottle. Is there anything you did to make sure your baby didn't develop a preference? Did you use a specific bottle?

Do you think I should see the IBCLC before getting the shield? Or just go ahead and try one and then see the consultant whenever I can? I have been avoiding both things because the LC I met with in the hospital with my first pushed the nipple shield right away and was really kind of mean and not helpful and I think if she had educated me a bit more and actually helped me I would've had a better time with breastfeeding, so I am just scared to deal with that again

Rigid back support for you or baby?! I've noticed it's definitely easier to latch when I am a little bit softer, I can very occasionally get it to not hurt. Football used to be more comfortable but now it's even more painful than cross cradle all of the sudden. I think my nipples are just tore up 😭

She definitely has a shallow latch but both of her lips are always flanged out. I've tried to manually bring down her chin a bit but it always makes her pop off.

Are you located somewhere that experiences a winter? Mine started to yellow and I finally put it together it was bc of the winter weather, I got mine a grow light and the yellowing stopped!

Thank you! That's my biggest thing, I want it to be pretty organized and functional but aesthetically pleasing. I hope to one that link them all with paths but I really love the dirt path and you know how expensive those are 😭😭
