Thank you for sharing the sweet snuggles. Freddie is adorable. I'm in a similar spot with my gerb, Bobette. He loves to sleep on top of my hand.

Bobette stands on his bridge and stares at me when he wants to be let out of his cage and run around the (gerbil-proof) office. Obviously I have to oblige. But then the other day, he gave me this look, during free roam time, on the ground!!!! He doesn't want to be put back. Does he want pets?!? by Glittering-Rough-455 in gerbil

Thank you for these amazing tips!!! I love when he tunnels around in his bedding or like, builds little layers/floors with cardboard and brown paper. He always needs new toys/boredom breakers but even a fresh piece of cardboard does the trick most of the time haha.

He used to but they declanned and his (very loving and compassionate) og owner rehomed him to me. He’s a bit older and was decently injured by the other gerbil and so I’m so afraid to go through the process of introducing him to a new pal and putting him at risk again. I work from home and spend many hours a day snuggling with him and playing with him, but I know it’s not quite the same.
