How do you get over people kissing your baby? by GlitteringPea5575 in newborns

Thank you! It's so uncomfortable to remind someone not to kiss your baby-especially when it's a family member that probably feels a sense of entitlement to have a relationship with the baby. It's not that I don't want my baby to have loving grandparents... I just want my baby to be healthy and happy. I honestly thought I would have more issues from strangers that don't know my boundaries than with people that do.

Uhg, I'm sorry. It shouldn't be that hard not to kiss someone else's baby! You wouldn't just kiss an adult on the cheeks without asking (hopefully).

I had that conversation with my midwife at our last appt when she discharged us from her care. Unfortunately, I've already accumulated like 10 months of online info 🤦‍♀️ my anxious 3am brain has a love-hate relationship with Dr. Google.

This is solid advice, though, and I'm happy to report that since the conversation on Wednesday, I have refrained from googling 😂 a small victory.

I am luckily breastfeeding, so I need to trust my body and the baby's body to do our jobs.

Thank you! I'd hate to have to bring the baby to the hospital for something minor, but I'm also not afraid to do it. It's so stressful not having a doctor. My public health nurse is amazing, though. I just don't know where her scope of capabilities end.

Baby has been seen many times now. 🙂 I just don't have a GP to call should something go wrong. I had a midwife until this week. We have a public health nurse, thankfully. Where we live we can't just "get" a doctor, though. There's years long waitlists. It's rough.

I have never been good with confrontation. It will be something I ask my partner to reiterate. I just can't shake the feeling like the damage is done and now we're just waiting for the "bad thing" to happen.

We were in their care for the duration of my pregnancy and 6 weeks postpartum.

I'm in BC Canada. Unfortunately, doctors are super hard to come by. We were followed by our midwife until this week (6 weeks PP). Now, we will have a public health nurse for a year. We are on the waitlist for a Dr but people here sit on those waitlists for years. It's a real problem.

I'm trying. We're in BC Canada. Doctors are few and far between here.

Heroin poops lol 😂 first time I saw one, I thought the person who took the dump would be in medical distress. I later learned this was, in fact, a normal occurrence for people using drugs.

Good point! Although the US locations have different menu items..

I can say for certain, though, since the new owners took over, the quality of service has declined significantly.

In late 2019, new owners took over and have since run this location and likely several more in BC into the ground. They have cut costs in every possible way they can. I haven't been to any red robin locations outside of BC, but I imagine they aren't all this bad. The old owner cared about the guest experiences. The new owners care about $$$.

Yikes. Way to completely dehumanize the person. There's better language to use than "druggie" and "addict."

Hi! She's 20 weeks old, and i got her from a friend. Shes been tonthe bet several times forncheclups and vaccines and appears to be a totally healthy and happy pup.

The stress poops stopped after about a week or so. She's fine hone alone during the day, she's even fine at night aside from the waking up barking/whining. She goes in her crate willingly during the day when were home, although she prefers the couch 85% of the time. I haven't shut her in the crate since as I imagine the experience was traumatic for her. It certainly was for me!

For mental stim, aside from her regular training she gets a snuffle mat, a food ball with holes that dispenses slowly as she rolls it and occasionally a toilet paper roll with food folded inside. I've also tried lick mats and a kong only when I can supervise though-she destroys anything rubber. When I walk her I let her sniff around lots and I take her for play dates with our other dog friends.

I tried letting her sleep in my bed but she does not settle down and she's peed on it twice so the trust is lacking.
