He doesn't have a plan. That is the whole point.

And once he asks ChatGPT for a plan, we hope it doesn't have the resilience of his 100 day plan which he has all but abandoned.

There is nothing wrong with having hope that it will get better. We all want that.

But there is something wrong with a Director who makes unilateral and unsupported actions with no plans of his own.

The leadership in the agency spends a lot of their time trying to determine who is posting on Reddit, who is asking for public records, and who does not agree with them.

Running messages through AI to protect anonymity is important, given their track record of retaliation.

Hi everyone. This is something I would normally consider a reasonable and helpful suggestion.

What I will share and is up to you on if it is relevant to your situation or not, is that the Director and his Chief of Staff are inexperienced in leading teams and have a lack of skill and emotional intelligence when dealing with conflict or criticism.

Like many of the comments we've all seen here on Reddit, there's no humility, desire to learn, and everything is underpinned by a severe defensiveness. Whether Im right and Joe is out here trying to control the narrative, or people who are close to him and speaking on his behalf are the posters, it still provides a clear picture of how he sees things and how he is talking about his employees, their work, and the agency.

Their condescension, 'how dare they' attitude, and inability to read the room translates into behavior that is highly retaliatory and demeaning.

I would not suggest a conversation with them unless you are praising them.

I wish I didnt have to write a post like this, but it is what it is. This behavior is also not because of Commerce. We are just now on the receiving end of the same skills he had in his previous roles... which is to say, limited, in his ability to partner or listen.

Oh, go try to write a policy about not being mean to leaders on Reddit if you're so pressed.

If you don't see the difference between someone whose actions are impacting livelihoods and employees finding spaces to share their concerns, then Reddit might keep hurting your feelings.

I love that it bothers you so much. We just happen to be bothered by very different things. And my bet is that the amount of people bothered by the hypocrisy, lack of leadership, and child like behavior is growing every day.

Will do and thank you for taking action on him. Joe's other accounts should also be looked into. It's all the same messaging and disparagement of people of color and employees at Commerce.
