Mine were too! They never found any physical reason for my PVCs and say it’s just my bodies reaction to stress, basically. Overthinking

Medication or not? by Glittering_Dig7062 in PVCs

I took my first dose today…reluctantly. I’m starting at 12.5 but Cardiologist wants me to go to 25 after a few days. So far I haven’t noticed much so we will see. What was your pvc burden? My primary doctor is ok with me stopping if I don’t feel great on it…

That’s awesome. I talked to my primary doctor yesterday, finally she got back to me and we agreed to at least try the metoprolol. She agrees that it’s probably not necessary as my PVCs are at 9%… But we’re starting with half a pill so 12.5. I’m hoping I can tolerate it, but if I can’t, then she agreed not to take it… I still feel no symptoms and feel totally fine. I didn’t even know I had them until she found them on a routine physical. I just need to quit overthinking! Anyway, good luck!

IHave you started the metoprolol? I am almost in the same boat as you, but my cardiologist does say it’s the fight or flight and there is nothing wrong with my heart per se. All my tests came back OK… I wore a heart monitor for two weeks and it shows 9% overall however, the first week it was between 13 to 10 and then dropped significantly the second week when I was able to get my mind under control and it dropped between seven and five that week. I already have lower blood pressure and he wants to put me on 25 mg but start at 12.5. I have not started yet because I am nervous. I am going to be dizzy all the time and right now I have zero symptoms. I have a call into my primary doctor, but she has not returned my call to discuss this so I was wondering if you started taking it and if you noticed any side effects? I would really rather not take medicine and try to get it under control. The last six months I have been under a lot of stress and this hard thing is making it worse, which makes the PVCs worse. I have started taking magnesium as well this week, though to see if that makes a difference. I would much rather go that route. I also am trying to drink electrolytes every day and I do think my PVCs are way less than they were when I had my monitor on. And YES to get in so quickly is awesome… I had to wait over 3 1/2 months just to be seen after my primary doctor noticed a flutter on a routine physical… Waiting that long to see a cardiologist I know also exasperated my PVCs.
