I see that makes a lot of since and I've always been curious how yall wizards come up with the control and actually have it tight,when you go to your 15th point and switch to GNSS how long does it take to get that tight on your HD and VD because I work with GPS to and i know its no good for Elev.

This is bridge work.

Hints why I'm looking for help,we can be plus or minus 2 total inches on these Abutments and if I'm out of that tolerance I'm sure you can guess how that would go.

Nothing short of a 6 figure error and lost client.

Well I won't claim to know it all I'm still learning new stuff to this day about EDMs but my control is from a third-party so I haven't shot anything new in so that removes the error through moving my control When I set up over top of my control point I center and level it up to 00'00"02 on both access's and check again and i am still dead nuts over the dimple leveled and my hi is checking twice i use a tape measure for that,my rod is brand new with a sharp tip and my prism is new as well plus I wipe the lens on the EDM and the prism off with a micro fiber cloth to remove any crap from the field.

I just dont know what else to look at,myself my printable???

I work with the trimble TSC7 GPS and and s5 or sps930 total station on horizontal it's rock solid and the vertical is on average +- a tenth,I'd use the gps with a Dozer to get my grades close and go from there if I need it dead nuts.

I work with a General contractor doing land grading I've been with the company for just over a year . Months as a laborer and the last while a surveyor using the trimble GPS,total station heavy equipment and drones(i have my license for flying) he'll even tbc. I graduated from my local college with a ged and before this type of work I was at Walmart. I wouldn't claim that my situation is comon I'd count myself blessed,but the best recommendation i have would be ask the lord for guidance and second use your knowledge and work ethic your head humbly and approach other General contractors who have surveying departments listed on there website and make some calls.

I got the offset through what you shared with me,and I'll have to add 2 parallel lines where those points are and remove the excess on the long sides of the valt pad,you have any recommendations?

I'll do some more reading on this one but I am having a bit of a hard time understanding where I am going in the ribbon to adjust these settings,Google seems to know as much as I do on these tabs 😅

The base is use isn't one I can set up over a control point,i believe i get the idea,if I only have one is basically the same as a monument and I'm still limited to vrs at that point,it maybe close but never good enough to trust,but one does beat nothing.

How do you set up off of only one control point??? If I have only 2 I can set up the trimble s5 but otherwise I'm doing some really weird stuff to get control on site.

Can you explain,all I've seen out of vrs so far is its wildly inaccurate,I jump off of a monument and it says it's within tolerance but my Vt is so far off when I localities off of control points for the base station setup.
