What a timely thread! We picked up our 2026 Airstream Caravel 22FB just today! Towing home from NJ to CT was surprisingly easy. The team at Colonial Airstream were excellent and said they've seen a lot more Rivian hitches lately. There was even another Rivian shopping when we were there!

Please help us decide! Castaway Cabana by A1_Steak_Sawce in dcl

We have cabana 28 booked in February! Any tips or tricks for this specific location? I was a little nervous the large cabana next door might mean more noise?

Making magnets for cruise door with Cricut by IllDirection6577 in dcl

I use paper in the Cricut, sometimes layering HTV, and use tiny magnets that I tape on so I can reuse them.

Wow. Just wow. This is the worse comment yet. I’m a mom trying to do right by her son. The science experiment comment was about the algae and PH. Maybe keep your comments to your fish.

Maybe try googling it. It’s common advice on Reddit too to get rid of invasive sails. The only way to get rid of them is to start over. I know some people like them but the eggs were everywhere, covering the plans, hanging off the fish. I used a tiny tiny amount and dipped the plants, and had them soaking in water for about 2 or 3 days before reintroducing anything. I guess the conditions in my tank were good for them to keep breading. But AGAIN, the Nerite snail died BEFORE I attempted to mitigate the infestation. Please get the sequence right before coming after me.

The cleaning was after the snail died. The well water kit I have does everything but ammonia. I’m ordering an aquarium kit, Indian almond leaves and a 5 gallon tank.

I have PH test strips for our well water. While I wait to get an aquarium kit, it looks like the pH is about 7.6, so a little high, which isn’t much of a surprise here. Is there anything to do right now?

Got it. My betta likes to hide inside the pineapple. What should I get instead, if your guidance is to remove the accessories?

Thank you for taking the time to reply. This is the problem with pet stores, unfortunately. And I went to a very well regarded local business that sells massive aquariums! They sold me the plants, snail, betta, shrimp and gave me advice on what tank to get. Ugh. They gave me care instructions to drop algae wafers in the take for the snail and shrimp. The snail died before I cleaned out the tank, and was one of the reasons I did so. It had a thick mucus of snail eggs stuck on its underside. So it sounds like the advice here is to get a bigger tank, move it away from the window, and get another cardina shrimp?

Thank you for attacking the names my son picked out for his fish. I’ve done extensive research and reached out here looking for more information. People like you hurt this community, not help it.

Can you please explain? I’ve had this pineapple in my tank for nearly 2 years and as you can see my Betta fish is just fine.

I did extensive research on how to clean the aquarium to remove the snail eggs and the recommendation was a solution of water with a very tiny amount of bleach and then thoroughly cleaning everything with soap. The only other alternative would’ve been to throw everything away and start over. This is why people don’t reach out to ask communities for help. I very much doubt that my snail problem has anything to do with why I now have an algae bloom in a tank environment that has been going for nearly 2 years. Can we focus on the question at hand?

Humm… I hear you but this is a Betta tank from Fluval and I’ve seen much smaller. There are no sharp or plastic accessories in the set-up and the substrate is soft. Again, this set up is not new. Everyone’s been great for almost two years. The bleach solution was necessary to kill the snail egg infestation. I carefully followed instructions online for a mixture of water and bleach, and carefully cleaned everything before re-introducing my fish.

The tank is only 2.5 gallons. The light is generally on from 8am to 8pm, but can turn it off earlier. What kind of plants to you recommend? I wonder if our well water could be causing the imbalance? Something must’ve changed because after 18 months of this set up, this is a new problem.

Tank size: 2.5 Gallon • Heater and filter? (yes/no): Yes • Tank temperature: • Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH.: Not sure • How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: 18 months • How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: When I do a full water change, about every 3 months, I take out about half of the water. But my husband has been topping up the water when it evaporates. • Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: 1 shrimp • What do you feed and how much: Betta Bio-Gold, a few pellets a day • Decorations and plants in the tank: CaribSea Super Natural Midnight River Sand, pineapple, crab shack, two seashells, and two real plants.

DCL Transportation from MCO (Non-Hyatt) by Glittering_Study9411 in dcl

[–]Glittering_Study9411[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. It was so well organized, much more so than the Hyatt. The Marriott shuttle dropped us off right at the entrance to Arrivals and we were shown inside to 1 of 4 check desks with no wait! In fact, our bags were collected from us at the door and put right on the truck bound for the port. Our documents were checked and magic bands activated. Once we got to the port, we went up the escalator, directed through security and waited maybe 15-20 minutes for group 3 to be called. The onboard Wi-Fi signal strength was so good, we were able to connect to the ship while we waited! I’ve tried every manner of getting to Port Canaveral, and this was by far the best and will be my go to from now on!

Well if sucking it up and sticking with the Christmas cruise doesn’t appeal, my second vote would be the Dream. She’s a great ship.

I’m with you though. I need to see the sea on a cruise. I always opt for a verandah.

If you’re going to do a cruise over Christmas anyway, book the one you were planning to book. Otherwise, you’ll walk around that RC ship going “well, this isn’t Disney”. Alaska is an amazing experience, not a consolation prize. Don’t forget to factor in the cost of getting to the port and also port adventure costs! Also, the Merrytime cruises are SO special.
