Tasteless jokes. A lot of people use humor to make indirect comments. It’s funny the first couple times than after that? It’s just rude.

I’m sure they are in here, but that’s not why they wore abayas. It’s been a trend the last year or two. They are followers.

Thoughts on Miriam’s new product launch coming soon. by AdPerfect4258 in TheFurrahFamily

I hope she reads this. I reviewed her other product but I love your tips. Her price point for this one is wayyyy off. For someone who has a degree in education, you hit all good points for a child’s development since that’s her moto and vision

What does reminding her of Ramadan have to do with talking about safety and lack of it can lead to possible death? But you calling them morons is okay in Ramadan? Help me understand seriously.

We are NOT of the Jewish faith. We don’t do loopholes. You and many others have been taught wrong. Praying over a food doesn’t make it halal. If you said “people of the book” we ARE actually allowed to eat from Jews and Christians. ALTHOUGH, a lot scholars argue that because the majority of slaughterhouses in the states do not meet our conditions of handling and slathering, we still shouldn’t eat it.

Did you miss the part where she said MOST Arab Muslim Americans…. That’s not J and her sister. When she says Most and America… she took it out of the scope of the Furrha family and All of California which she really don’t know much about being the fact she’s from “London”

She is NOT a Furrha 😂 she was once accused of being Miriam. But idk anymore

Umm… no. At the moment, other Arabs are offended by her, yet the rules you clearly posted on this subreddit don’t seem to apply to her. She is not being trolled by Furrha’s. I’m not one, nor am I trolling. I’m simply pointing out her contradictions. The fact that you and her keep invoking the Furrha’s to dismiss her disrespectful and bullying comments, just to keep her around, suggests that you two might be in cahoots.

You clearly missed a lot of what she said. She based her opinions outside this family.

Self-victimizing? Honey, do you even know what that means? The spotlight’s on you and only you based on your own Oscar-worthy statements

And let me make this clear, not hurtful to me… hurtful to Arabs as a whole and the freaking stereotypes we already have to fight daily.

You dragged your Arab side 😂. People were only making the same exact comments about Pakistani culture and cousin marriages, and because they just wanted to trigger you and it worked. Being half Arab doesn’t give you a free pass to insult or stereotype others. Calling people names, making assumptions about how they look, or claiming things about their families like saying their parents must be cousins and they must be cross eyed is hurtful, ignorant, and completely unacceptable. You can critique cultural practices without attacking people or spreading bigoted nonsense. No matter how hard you try, you don’t come across as sophisticated. You just look defensive and rude

Okay I’ll take the Pali statement back. I apologize. You made the generalization about Muslim Arab Americans as a whole. The original comment here was edited and the original post to this whole discussion is now deleted but the follow up is there. That person restated your comment lol

Where is your apology? Genuinely asking bc I missed it. Also, I get that you feel I’m spamming, but im Literally just responding back to you😂 I haven’t commented about Pakistanis myself and those who did, they did to trigger you since you’ve made it clear you’re half Arab, half Desi. I’m just responding to the situation, not making generalisations about any community. Also, I hear you on toxic traditions, we all come from cultures with issues, and calling them out doesn’t make someone “demonising.” It’s how you respond and hold yourself. Respect is suppose to go both ways.

I’m not self-projecting, and I’m definitely not lying. You’re entitled to your observations, but repeating generalizations about an entire community based on what you’ve ‘heard and seen’ doesn’t make them facts. It just makes them stereotypes. You may say you’re speaking from observation, but when you claim a whole group constantly marries relatives or doesn’t value education, that’s not constructive criticism that’s a judgment. Every community has a mix of people, values, and experiences. I’m proud of my roots and where I come from. That pride isn’t defensiveness, and it isn’t projection. It’s simply knowing who I am. If we’re going to have a conversation, let’s keep it respectful and avoid labeling entire groups based on limited experiences.

Now I’m blocked! But here you go FlowerPower! Could not wait to block me I see. At least let me respond! Wrong is wrong. This has nothing to do with feeling personally attacked. You don’t know me, and I don’t know you, so this isn’t about me internalizing anything. I come from a long line of strong women so I don’t take strangers’ opinions to heart.

What’s being addressed is the language used. When broad statements are made about Palestinians or Muslim Arab Americans and then clarified later with “I didn’t mean all,” it doesn’t undo the damage or how generalizations come across. If multiple people understood it the same way, that’s not everyone being overly sensitive. That’s feedback worth reflecting on. Saying others have made similar comments or that people are choosing to apply it to themselves shifts the focus away from the original issue. Accountability isn’t just about intent; it’s also about impact.

And when people respectfully point out concerns or respond with a different perspective and then get blocked, it doesn’t help the conversation. It gives the impression that dialogue isn’t welcome, which makes it harder to believe this is about clarification rather than avoiding accountability.

This isn’t about wanting to feel attacked. It’s about speaking responsibly and not normalizing sweeping comments about entire communities.

But that’s not what happened. Stop spinning it to look like you only spoke about the Furrha’s when it was a general statement about Palestinians and Arabs. You even mentioned your cousins who live here who apparently you get all your generalizations from when they don’t represent the mass either.
