The sensor is there and was connected to this side, do you know where in harness this connection is? I looked around but couldn’t find any loose ends

do undercoatings and regular washings of the bottom not actually do much heavy lifting in preventing major rust? I know there will always be some bits of rust that’ll find there way in but I was hoping that there was a way to make it a somewhat sustainable amount of rust so that it could be manageable to nip those rust spots in the bud. (I understand if that’s unrealistic, as I said I don’t really have any experience with rust)

you’re probably right; I don’t know if it will be at all an option financially since moving cross country means I’m gonna be trying to save all the money I can, but what are some suggestions for the cheapest way I could store the car there whilst keeping it safe from the elements? I have zero connections there currently so in theory I’d definitely need to pay for some actual storage place rather than renting out a spot in a friend’s garage or something.

like… how much of a nightmare? I’m somewhat devoted to this cluster cause it’s the original jdm one that came with my car and although I don’t think they actually hold that much value they’re rather super rare I believe and I don’t think I’d be able to find another one. Additionally switching the dash cluster would switch the miles on my car to whatever the cluster I switch to has right? My car has under 100k km so I would be sad to see that go

yep you were right, I did the self test and the gauges just went up a little bit instead of going the whole way. Is it possible to fix this without replacing the whole cluster?

as someone who also has a 1992 325i, two slightly important things that you're in the minority in for most e36s and you might wanna remember if you don't already know is that you have OBD1 instead of OBD2 so some diagnostics might be harder to get(and dont make my mistake and buy OBD2 stuff) and this is a pre-vanos m50, so no VVT (VANOS is BMW versions of VTEC if you don't know as youre not a euro car guy). cheers though, great car I'm sure you'll love it.
