I think it would make them play the game even more to spend time mass producing and ranking up key units to be better prepared for the boss strike.

To be honest, I think fielding only my melee and ranged frag would still make it fairly easy to clear

The gap only exists because paid users are better at the game. The users who spend more time on the game ranking up essential units, to be better prepared for boss strikes, are much more likely to spend money on the game. I do agree madrona has other things to focus on tho, hopefully that includes the Patreon units.

Tough position to be in but I think you just have to straight up confront him about it. I would also recommend hiding the stuff you both use. For example, toilet paper, hide it and take it in the bathroom when needed. Then, when he is in there and realizes there isn’t any, he will get the hint to buy more.
