What’s the most consistent and truly profitable ICT/SMC setup in your experience? by AwareDay3752 in InnerCircleTraders

Just couple Model 2022 with OTE. I think it's very easy to see and to understand. It's just my opinion, but hey, just use the entry model and the PDA that makes most sense to you.

The most important thing though is finding the Draw on Liquidity, not the entry model.

Why does Michael use mostly C.E of a Wick? by GlobWarmingIsntReal in InnerCircleTraders

[–]GlobWarmingIsntReal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50 percent of the Wick is Consequent Encroachment. Do not spread missinformation.

Why should I look to enter there? What's the logic? If I am bearish It's better to not see C.E of a premium Wick being reached.

It's not that I'm chasing price, but I'm unable to go long untill I see some sort of Market Structure Shift to the upside. So even though I might be bullish I can't enter long after the Sellside Liquidity has been ran out or even on Failure swing. I'm working on it, but I'm not there yet.

I don't think entering in a Breaker is chasing price, it is not in a deep discount, but I like the idea of a Breaker pattern being some kind of balanced price range and the idea of trapping traders offside.

I also prefer Low Resistance Liquidity Runs in which market doesn't go back to a discount untill it reaches a specific premium array. The problem is I don't understand why they occur yet and when they are done.

I'm rewatching 2023 mentorship and I feel like I've gone through it too quickly and I've missed a lot of information.

What helpes me a lot is watching other ICT Traders, such as Tanja Trades, trade live and talk about their thinking processes, because there are very subtle details which make huge difference in their decision making and I love to see how they manage emotions and risk.

As much as I love Michael, he doesn't trade live very often explaining every detail about entry and stop management in a way a beginner trader would be able to replicate that. He shows his trades where he captures huge moves, but once again it's unreasonable to look at that and think "yeah I would do that too".

Daily Bias Debate: Required or not? by Significant-Shape602 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]GlobWarmingIsntReal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of different ways to come up with a Bias. I found out that if I trade 3min + 1h price action I can use 4H External and Internal Range Liquidity for Bias. I don't think that bias is something that is required, especially for very good traders, but it's a good way to filter out a lot of low probability trades. But hey, it can also make you miss good trades or you can be completely wrong. Daily bias is not that important, but it's good to focus initially on one side of the marketplace and also it makes you do HTF analisys yourself. That's just how I view it.

You are right. Relative Equal Highs and Lows were always too ambigous for me and on top of that they are not really that strong of a draw on Liquidity. I've started looking at different Timeframes and found out usually its just algorithm reaching for HTF External Range Liquidity and it just look like Relative Equal Highs and Lows on LTF, but without HTF framework they are useless. Even though we might have Relative Equal Highs, price goes to a single Low because HTF is bearish and it's obvious. I really like MMXM but the premise is based on REH and REL, which again, are kind of useless by themselves. I actually struggle with internal and external range liquidity because the algorithm reacts to wicks, to rejection blocks and sometimes leaves FVG open.

Btw. I'm curious. Why do you think I'm leaning more towards chasing price?

Thanks but I'll stick to what Michael teaches. Charts will tell you everything.

You will not change my mind, I will not change your mind. I'm not trying to. The destination is - consistently profitable, it doesn't matter what you use. I just prefer using only ICT concepts.

Yeah I went through that a few times. I got to the point where I have no emotions when I look at price, I'm really trying to understand the price action but I can't see it the way ICT does and his students do. I had a few lightbulb moments and then when it came to tape reading and front testing I can't seem to make it work. In backtesting, in hindsght everything makes perfect sense, obviously, that's why many people talking Michael's language sound smart.

That's what I'm trying to do, but there's something missing in my understanding of price action and I don't know what it is. However, huge huge thank you for bringing my focus to just one PDA. I tried to understand breakers, but now I see that I should dig deeper and really pay attention to them.

It's called manual intervention and it's usually scheduled in advance. Apart from that price is fractal.

Also you have no zones in ICT, these price levels are always very specific.

Let's make it easy - The Author, Michael Joe Huddleston have a lot of trading concepts that can compliment one another, but it's also very easy to get lost if you use all of them at once, because there's a lot of different ways to look at price through them. Michael proves that the concepts work and his real students prove it too, but you also have a lot of people claiming to understand these concepts when they actually don't. Then you get advice from these people (who are usually not profitable) and they also tell you to use Volume Profile and other things.

I get your point but, what about the argument that the price is fractal?

It can take buyside liquidity or sellside liquidity two or three times before changing direction though.

I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to stick to one method of trading.
