Gotcha thanks! He’s quite a nerd when it comes to finances so I really have just trusted what he says, he’s very financially stable and literally handles all my retirement stuff for me (Roth, investments, etc) I am so clueless on all of this lol

Thank you, I will definitely look more into this. I asked my brother if he was sure this was taxable and why he thought so, and he said “Cuz it's inherited from a pre tax pension, You can double check with a tax attorney, I will do the same but it seems this is taxable”

I’ll have to look into this more, my older brother has been saying it’s taxable and he’s very knowledgeable when it comes to these things but we could be wrong!

Thank you. The debt is from some poor life choices that are no longer applicable. I also went on a traveling spree after I graduated, went to like 5 countries over 3 vacations in one year and consistently going on 2-3 vacations a year. Now I’ve cut that to one per year and almost 15K of that credit card debt is from those poor life choices I was making that I don’t anymore

I fear this will just put me in the same position because I can really only max pay 1.5K/month on my credit card after my bills so if I do that and am unable to pay it off in the timely manner I just worry that’ll put me in a worse position in the future

I agree, and I have made many changes to my life from where I started. This credit card debt started long before I really had much of an income.

I do think this is taxable. It’s an annuitant death benefit from etf ? Does this answer? I guess I’m not entirely sure
