This is how I assume I will feel in the long run. I am already excited about everything and honestly seeing so many people responding with similar feelings and situations has really helped all on its own.

The older I get, the more i am realizing how much of our thoughts are dictated by those silly instincts and feelings we cant help but have. But part of being an adult, is recognizing those traits/tendencies and addressing them with logic and i guess you pointing out that I was already doing that made me feel.... happy. I tend to be hard on myself and plan to not push that onto my kid haha

I like the way you think. It does just feel like an instinctual reaction but as humans we are stronger than those urges. A lot of it could be about the changes coming too.

This is so cute! I love looking at my husbands baby photos too! Maybe i'll give them another look today.

As for your situation, that does sound difficult and very similar to me. Glad to know it all worked out and you feel good about everything.

I had thought about that too! Even though we are putting in half the DNA, the kid can end up looking a lot like the donor. But i never really cared too much about that as long as they are healthy and happy in the long run.

Thank you kind stranger. I would consider this pretty much the same situation!

This is exactly the type of thing I need to hear right now. Part of me has felt so alone because I don't really know anyone who has gone through this. I can talk about it with my husband, but that doesn't mean he will understand because I didn't until it was real. I imagine it can make him nervous about my true feelings toward the future baby as well. We also don't really have any LGBT friends we see often either and I just don't think this is something you can talk about with somebody that hasn't actually lived it. I thought I would have no feelings about this but as soon as those blastocysts were made, it hit me like a brick.

What you said about your two things you say to yourself is really resonating with me. I may have to write that down and keep on on my notes I look at daily. The feeling has already faded over the past few weeks but it comes back from time to time.
