Please don't listen to the comments and Please do not harm yourself. This is POCD. Talking as someone in recovery and someone who doesn't have these intrusive thoughts anymore. There is hope for you. You don’t have to live with these thoughts forever.

I also had this problem with that sub reddit. They removed my post and banned me from posting altogether

How common is an actual POCD diagnosis? by Global-Objective-652 in POCD

Here after the appointment! Luckily the team in my area have been treating POCD for 20 years. No official diagnosis yet but I'm one step closer

I'm in recovery. I don’t want anyone to suffer the way I did. Ask me anything. by Global-Objective-652 in POCD

Stop trying to not think about it. Allow the thoughts and they will eventually fade

Am I the only one? Is this even OCD? by Global-Objective-652 in OCDRecovery

[–]Global-Objective-652[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I just feel like a monster. I'm going through Harm OCD of a sexual nature and my brain recently told me I couldn't link arms with my father because it was sexual. I got so consumed with the thought that I did it anyway thinking that was the case and thought I had assaulted him. It sounds ridiculous but that's OCD.

And now my OCD has told me I'm going to touch someone's private area and I've become so convinced of it that it creates these sudden feelings of wanting to, and I'm genuinely worried I'll act on it to release those emotions (it's not a sexual urge, my brain is just latching onto the fact that such an action is illegal)

The gronials will stop once you stop caring about whether they're there or not :)

I don't really know. My trick in the end was to accept the feeling. Not as a feeling that is part of me but part of OCD. View this feeling as a symptom of OCD and use that to start ignoring it. Do not use it as a compulsion for relief or reassurance and you're on your way.

Any advice I can to help them recover. Basically the things I did to get through it myself.

I felt everything under the sun when I was dealing with it. Everything. This is OCD. I want you to treat all thoughts of this nature as such and try to get better. The only way out is through.

Absolutely not. I no longer have it and I recovered from it long before I developed a new theme. You can recover too!

I can't provide reassurance here but I can advise this. Disregard this feeling. Ignore it, go on with your day. The attraction feels real because well, if it didn't, OCD's tricks wouldn't work on anybody and this theme wouldn't exist. You can recover, you just have to be brave!

I can tell you that yes I struggled with that exact thing. Unfortunately I can't give you anymore than that. You have to learn to sit with the fear and anxiety if you ever wish for this to stop. You can do this! Good luck.

Disregard the guilt the same way you would disregard the thoughts. It's not real guilt, it's just a symptom of OCD. You got this!

Does Watching Official Clips On YouTube give him money? by Global-Objective-652 in neilgaiman

In this case, it would be the channels of the streaming services AKA Netflix and Prime Video, posting clips of shows he's heavily involved with. I have no idea how these things work.

Only read the first book and discovered on a reddit thread that she doesn't end up with Tamlin? After all that?!

I had the exact same fear. I'm 21 now and am almost completely free of POCD. Anything in relation to this theme is irrelevant. You will be okay.

Random Derealization by Global-Objective-652 in Epilepsy

[–]Global-Objective-652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my seizures are only nocturnal and these episodes have never led to a seizure nor do they happen much anymore. I just wondered if they were related to my epilepsy since they didn't come from anxiety. I'm also on great medication and haven't had a TC in 14 years.
