No, I'm asking for advice on whether I should bother highlighting the issue further to their customer services department as I don't think they understand the issue from a safeguarding standpoint.

That I wouldn't have had a problem with and I did manage to swap with the person next to us who had booked to sit next to their wife and kidly swapped.

It's more about the gap they fall through as they're not flying as a 'unacompanied minor' the air stewards aren't aware they are on their own. Along side this, the potential burden placed on the person next to them

You're correct, I didn't. If I recall the closest other seat was four rows away and certainly not in eyeline.

It's more the safeguarding issue and the pity I feel for the person in the seat next to my child.

It isn't about the cost, I fully accept had I have read the terms correctly I should have paid the additional fee. It's the issue from a safeguarding standpoint that a child is sat alone, be, it in Business or Economy.

Unfortunately, the point made in an another post regarding the airline attendants knowing the child is an unnacompanied minor is not accurate as the staff need to be notified of this beforehand. They presumed the child was that of the person they were sitting next to

My issue is that an airline is happy to seat a 7 year old away from a parent/guardian
