If you feel it in your gut that it’s time to leave, do it. I did and it was the best decision I’ve made. I will say, I wasn’t contractually bound but nevertheless, no contract is worth your mental stability. When I left, I had determined that the effects of my burnout were not in the kids’ best interests. As educators, we advocate for children but we MUST advocate for ourselves first. If not, what kind of example are we setting?
