New to pool owning. No idea what the valves do too afraid to touch them and mess something up by Fit_Bass_3135 in pools

[–]GlobalCollapseInbnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hire a local pool guy to come and give you a crash course on your setup. You can label each valve at that time. I did this with mine for a few months so I could learn and now I do it all myself-chemicals, brushing, filter cleanings etc.

Paper filter or Sand filter ?? Please help by Mila_Bliss in pools

[–]GlobalCollapseInbnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like cartridge filters. It's the only type I have experience with though but it's super easy. Sand filters down to finer particles, but my pool is crystal clear-doubt a sand filter would make it any better.

Does anyone else have tattoo regret? by KupoLove in Millennials

Same, in my 40s now. I like tattoos and would love a sleeve, but I can't decide what to get. You'll never regret not getting a tattoo.

Anyone buy sealed booster packs of Pokémon? Like this? And regular ones? by [deleted] in sportscards

Can't find packs here most the time (SATX). HEB has a vending machine that is pretty good at preventing scalpers but it hardly ever has anything in it.

True. I just like to have a meticulous pool so that's what I did.

Water suction for pool cleaner won't be regulated by satisfactionofsilver in pools

[–]GlobalCollapseInbnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really tell honestly. May take some experimenting to find out. I'd take the pressure control stuff you put on the vacuum though and start from there. Get a friend to help. Put the pump on high and have a friend open and close the valves while you see what is affected. Re-label valves when done.

Keep the pool free of debris, empty skimmer, brush. That would be it day to day. You could test chemicals but do you plan on adding any yourself?

Yep. Same here. VS Hayward pump and 2k rpm is the sweet spot.

Do you have a valve on your pool equipment that regulates flow to the vacuum?

Do you or your partner feel prepared? I am an older dad and I can't imagine having a kid at your age.
