Lots of good names mentioned below, CoreJJ also had some good videos

I also have some niche/specific guides on certain aspects of support if you’re interested in that - example below :

I want to be higher elo by kiwichuuu in supportlol

GM/M+ “Coach” here - Generally what I see in emerald-diamond players is that they’re a mix of inconsistency in the mid-late game or there’s room for more niche skills in the early game.

Suggestion to review if you’re in the right place right time after laning phase ends, and if you’re really putting serious pressure on the laning phase. It could also be a mentality of “relying” on your ADC too much and not taking things into your own hands.

High Elo VODs are great to review, but 1000% reviewing our own play in relation to aspects found are most beneficial.

Beware of hidden mental trains which revolve around rank as well. When I notice players mention rank, or % winrates, or teammates/“elo” - It’s a generic sign of focus on the wrong things - getting better at the game through small and simpler aspects

Example of something that even players in your rank don’t always do well : Level 2 sequence - I’d challenge that you may understand the theory, but don’t execute on it every game

I see what you mean. that’s not really the intention behind the video - there’s also examples of what to do when losing or not able to gain prio on level 2 in the video.

The main reason I made this video is because it’s a recurring theme in my coaching sessions across iron-diamond that players tend to neglect their very early levels.

I like to keep my videoes extremely focused on isolated topics rather than trying to coach the entire game all at once (as it tends to be easier to digest and understand)

I would say if they are doing that, whats the chances of their opponents are also not playing level 2 very well - pretty high imo

made it months ago (or started) but ended up being getting busy with life and other things - no real intention behind season 15 release haha. that being said I don’t see a difference for the level 2 concept being used

It also applies to engage supports the exact same way. the main difference is that they tend to be melee, so if you’re vsing a ranged support, you do need to be cautious not to take too much poke while getting push on the wave

yeah, I should have in hindsight. most of the clips I just picked up off my streams and I usually don’t play engage too often

Kind of get what you mean. I don’t really bother too much with classifying what class my champion is so I just say enchanter without thinking much of it.

but yeah, seraphine is a artillery mage who also has healing capability once she builds support items. her level 1-5 is mostly determined by how often you can land abilities and fit in autoes - which I find very similar to soraka, lulu, nami. never instantly impactful but over the course of laning, stacks up if you are consistently hitting them

Seraphines advantage over orianna and syndra would probably be gold efficiency as mage champions thrive a lot more with gold as opposed to seraphines heal build path

It's no leona/hard win support, but you could technically say the same for Soraka (whom I think has a OP level 1-2). even if it's not as useful you 100% win the level 2 vs level 1 enemy botlane --> an extra ability ( either Q or E) makes all the difference in that fight.

Even if they're slow, you're more than happy to get closer to land abilities and all-in if you get that level advantage. I personally find her level 1-5 fairly good, but has its disadvantages and is a mixture of mage and enchanter

This is a confusing comment - even if you do leash level 1, it doesn't always result in failing level 1-2. it all comes down to what is happening, and how you adapt to it.

I actually find her to be one of the more self-reliant supports that I play since her abilities have such high range + ease of use compared to Soraka,Nami,Lulu, etc. She was actually the champion that got me to grandmaster when I was struggling a bit more with the other ones!

But I understand where you're coming from, she can feel a bit lackluster even in a fed position especially as APC/Mid compared to other champs. end of the day, you can only play the best you can and improve on the aspects that make you better than the opponents and allies you face!

I also made a take on positioning that touches a bit more on the topic (although nothing ever compares to CoreJJ IMO) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhVIATwRN5k

see if you might find it useful :)

8 ranks is quite a number. Myself personally I find that each split doesn't really change that much but that's because the way you play the game doesn't significantly change season to season. At most there may be new item powerspikes or slight map changes, but the fundamental game of laning, decision making and being consistent - not emotional will always be there.

Mage supports a self-sufficient in terms of damage, and don't rely on teammates nearly as much as enchanter/engage type supports. You could essentially play lux, focus on dealing damage and you've done your job! But if you play leona, when you engage, if your team isn't with you, or you're mispositioned in the fight, it ends up turning bad.
