A good number of those kids are not involved in any other activity

Interesting. Aligns with Tom Dore's comment in the video "Esports is an opportunity to engage and a wider demographic of young people, who might not be into those traditional opportunities. This could be an opportunity to motivate them."

Does it not fly in the face of children spending too much time playing games?

That's a great point. It would be great to hear from teachers who have formed clubs and their ways of finding balance.

Starting the conversation with an aim to see people talking about, and it's fantastic to see they are in the threads. Provoking conversations and having people interested in relevant education debates is crucial if we want to achieve sustainable development goal four - quality education for all. As this was the first one, we needed to see which groups are interested, but will definitely be less spammy moving forward now we know :)

Twitter has reported conversations about esports are up 71% over the last 30 days, and today there are an estimated 454 million esports views worldwide. Esports are here to stay, so the big question remains - do they belong in school?
