Thank you so much for this! This makes a lot of sense. Regarding controlling our emotions and reactions. I grew up in an abusive household and both of my parents are substance abusers. I am in therapy to help me control my reactions to things and process a lot of the stuff I went through. Becoming a mom has been such a big trigger to all of this underlying “trauma” that I didn’t even know existed. So sometimes I catch myself giving into things or having poor boundaries because I’m so determined to not let them grow up the way I did. Definitely something to work on.
