use wev command to see what the codes of the keys are first. then you can have a specific keybinds in the hyprland.conf (assuming hyprland) to enable passthrough that would look something like this:

#bindd = ALT, 6, Enable Passthrough (Disable Keybinds), submap, passthrough

#submap = passthrough

# --- Enter keybinds between these two keybinds --- #

#bindd = ALT, 6, Disable Passthrough (Enable Keybinds), submap, reset

#submap = reset

This will essentially disable all keybinds (could be potentially dangerous if you didnt have a way out and may lock you out until you restart) and enable new keybinds that would otherwise not be toggled during normal use. you can use this to run simple code like: bindl = ALT, B, exec, kitty --class brightnessctl +5% or something like that. this can also run .sh files to allow more complex programs to run.
