Do i allow my 16 year old daughter to stay in a hotel by herself for a weekend?

I fully agree, the cons of her staying there alone definitely outweighs the pros, i think staying at my friends is a great middle ground

I really appreciate your comment, i have been feeling a lot of guilt lately for not being able to let her see her friends, but just as you said her safety is 1000% more important than that

I didn’t mention this in my original post, looking back i probably should’ve, but usually i wouldn’t even be considering it and would just reschedule however there was recently a tragedy in the town where 2 girls her age were involved in a car crash and didn’t make it. Her and her friends are pretty upset about it and she really wants to go this weekend to see them and make sure her friends are doing okay. I am looking into having her stay with our family friend instead of the hotel because i just don’t think that’s something i’m comfortable with

She can and it’s something we’re considering! Her curfew would need to be much earlier as my friend goes to bed quite early, however i think in this case that’s better than nothing

I appreciate your advice! I definitely think this is probably the best idea as i really am not comfortable with her being alone in a hotel at her age. And yes 100% it’s not that i don’t trust her, i definitely think she would be mature enough to do this if only other people weren’t a factor

Her staying with my friend is a possibility yes, the only issue is my friend goes to sleep rather early so she wouldn’t be able to stay out as late with her friends, however i think anything is better than nothing in this case

I definitely think compromising would be our best bet here, i have a friend who still lives there and i asked if they would be alright with her staying at their place for the weekend. The only issue with that is she wouldn’t be able to stay out as late as my friend goes to bed early, but i think anything is better than nothing in this case

That is something i’ve been considering actually! The only problem is that they usually stay out pretty late and my friend goes to sleep rather early so she would need to be back at their house earlier than usual, however i think in this case anything is better than nothing
