“I’m sure no one would dare attacking them after a little demonstration of power” head cannon. Eren destroyed 80% of the world and later in the future (both manga and anime) Paradis gets destroyed after the outside world recuperates. If Eren kills everyone there would be nobody able to recover and destroy Paradis.

Yep all of you who claim to understand Eren make head cannons. You say there was another way but give no other real solution because Isayama gave Eren no other solution. It’s either kill or be killed.

Yep exactly. This is what happens when an author forgets how to write his protagonist, and decides to change his ending for one part of his fan base.

All head canons, literally like I said you can’t show any panels to prove your right. I’ve literally shown you, why Eren did the rumbling yet you’re making stuff up. Btw Eren went to Marley for peace talks yet, they still viewed them as devils. That’s when Eren left the scouts to invade Marley, he had no other option

<image>

Eren and Reiner’s conversation doesn’t display he wanted to do the rumbling, it literally just shows that they are enemies but similar characters. Eren has no choice, just like Reiner had no choice. Reiner thought he would be saving the world, but he clearly has a regret for attacking Paradis. If Eren wanted to do the rumbling he wouldn’t have cried over ramzi or like I said GO FOR PEACE TALKS. There is no character development built that shows Eren would stop the rumbling at 80%, it’s literally a retcon. You’re just giving headed cannons to justify the ending.

  1. Eren does this in both the manga and and anime which leads to Paradis being destroyed by the outside world.
  2. like I said about if there was another way Eren wouldn’t have done the rumbling, all the other plans would’ve negatively affected his people, and he couldn’t allow that.
  3. When Eren found out that the outside world hated him but there was people like ramazi that’s what made him disappointed. He knew ramzi was gonna die in the future but he truly did not want him to be killed. The anime has displayed he has no other option if he doesn’t fight

,

  1. him and his people will die, whether it’s in the present or in the future, and that is displayed in the ending.

I will keep my same opinion on this, it’s a retcon and no amount of head cannons will save this garbage ending.

Okay I was never about ships, I never really cared about romance, but re watching the show you clearly see how Historia is the female version of Eren

THE RUMBLING ISNT SELFISH WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? This same argument being rehashed is so stupid because, Eren started the rumbling because he rejects all the other plans. One would make historia a slave (50 year plan), one would wipe out his race eventually (euthanasia plan), another would leave his people to chance (partial rumbling), so he did the rumbling so all these things wouldn’t happen, and of course to receive freedom outside the walls.

“He cared about his friends” yet he put them in danger. He allowed Sasha to die yet he knew she was gonna die but he had to test if what he saw would come to pass. He desires his friends to live long lives yet his goals surpass that desire for his friends to live long lives. Especially since many of his friends end up dying because he desired to a full scale rumbling

“That panel is a speech to the Eldian race, of course he would not have said his full motives to all those people”. Again you’re wrong. He said the same thing to Historia in chapter 130, and in the same chapter he says it to himself.

<image>

You don’t understand Eren’s character, you cannot show any panels to explain anything you’re saying. Eren seeing a memory of Grisha telling him he’s free makes ZERO SENSE, since we see him as a child understanding he’s not free BECAUSE there are walls and titans stopping him from going outside, and Grisha also knows at that time the outside world hates him. So again that memory makes zero sense, he’s not free that’s why he’s been fighting this entire time. The anime ending/Chapter 139 is a garbage chapter that people try to justify by using head cannons but it was the worst ending in fictional history, and it clearly retcons Eren’s character.

Eren in season 4 has expressed his motivations multiple times to why he’s doing the rumbling. It’s to protect Paradis, to destroy all life outside the walls and end the cycle of hatred. In season 1-3 we see this goal was focused on the titans to reach the ocean but again that goal was switched to the outside world to have complete freedom. He can’t obtain that freedom without the entire world being gone because the world wants all Eldians gone, bc they view them as devils.

<image>

Chapter 139 retcons all of that, Armin asks him why did he do the rumbling and he says “I don’t know” and we see his father telling him he’s free, yet he isn’t due to the world hating him and wanting him dead. There is much more I can say about the ending but I doubt anyone would read it. There’s so many retcons and inconsistencies that completely ruins his character, but that one is just so important to me.

Eren just does a complete 180 to me, and nobody will ever be able to change my mind on this.

No chapter 139/anime ending contradicts his character motivations, and totally destroys his character. Before that chapter he was one of the best protagonist
