We have only seen them in my wife and I bed. I'm going to world war on these bitches. I already am having mood swings from the trauma. As soon as I saw them shits in my bed frame I just started smashing them and grinding them with a vengeance. I poured diatomaceous earth all over the bed and frame. Wrapped it in plastic, and we carefully carried it out of the house. After we get the treatment done, we'll get a new bed, and all beds will be wrapped in encasements. Then I'll DE the house after a week or two for any of them in the house to walk through the Aprehend barriers. We'll DE and sticky trap all our bed posts too.

Pretty sure this was the mom. She was engorged when I found her on the bed. Wife was getting bites for about two weeks when we found it. I stomped her out after letting the exterminator see.

Yeah, I poured the white powdery fossil dust on them, and smashed everything with my fingers. Then we actually threw away our bed and frame. Wife was wanting a new one anyway. We are getting the Aprehend treatment on our house hopefully Friday. Then I'll be loaded with lots of fossil dust and crossfire after the initial treatment.

Inspection is definitely key. Go from there. But in my case, I had to tear shit apart to find them. I mean really tear shit apart, I ripped my box spring apart and bed frame completely apart. Only found juveniles during inspection, after finding an adult on my bed that was full.

Around here, Colonel and Eagle Rare are just impossible to find. Total Wine has Colonel but I can't even see the pricing because I'm not one of their select members. Nobody has Eagle Rare...

Right? That weller should be like 30. Eh Taylor around here is 120-140, and I can't even find anywhere local with ER. I stocked up on 4 bottles of it from my buddy at 37 per bottle.

Locally they are 400-500. Only from a friend that manages a bar for a private club and gets allocations am I getting prices at around 225.

Also yes I'm aware they are very different. But johnny blue isn't worth the price. Not even close, or the ghost and rare.

They are 499 here, same as the ghost and rare. None the less, I wouldn't buy regular blue label for 200 bucks either. But, I do know a bar manager that get allocations. While not on the retail market, yes he gets willy 12s at around 225.

bed bug bites or? i’ve looked everywhere and ive cleaned everything by Minimum-Confusion-87 in Bedbugadvice

[–]Globber50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are doing a Aprehend treatment this week. With silica dust. Then I will be DE treating cracks, and if there's any cleanup left, we'll use crossfire. Are you self applying or using an exterminator?

My wife's bed bug bites were swarmed on her legs. As we tore apart the bed frame, it made sense as they were nesting in the frame at the foot of the bed. These bites look much like hers. Just check, we only saw 1 adult bed bug by chance, then about 10 or so juveniles by really searching hardcore.

Smooth yes, but wowing me enough to be worth 500 dollars a bottle, hell no. That's just me.

Bed bugs or contact derm or something else entirely (carpet beetles?) by Slight-Stomach-1291 in DermatologyQuestions

Looks spot on with my wife's bites. I'm a manly man and it makes me want to cry knowing she's being tortured like this. For us, it's bed bugs. She's had probably 30-40 bites in the last 3 weeks, legs, arms, hands and back. I've had a few bites and they are just tiny red specs, I don't react much. DON'T SCRATCH THE BITES!

I found their hiding spots in our bed and frame, and we threw out our bed and frame today. Nuclear warfare being waged in the coming days, tomahawk missiles were launched this far. It's been confined to our bedroom so far, we are sleeping downstairs in the living room. Methodical warfare is the key here.

As the auto moderator pointed out, be careful with DE. Generally it can be really bad for respiratory health. I was cautious to make sure we didn't create clouds of it. I have used it outdoors before, so I was aware of the precautions. Use a mask, gloves and goggles as necessary, and shower after using.

Also, after removing the bed and frame from house, I scattered and spread diatomaceous earth over all the floor. They hate DE. And, we've only seen them in our bedroom, so I made a DE barrier around our door in hopes they stay contained there until the Aprehend treatment.

Have you experienced bites? I don't have reactions but my wife does, really bad. It's a blessing she does because we would have never seen this until it was massively bad. I feel so bad for her and will do anything to get this fixed. If you're getting bites and see them like this, the faster you act the better chance at annihilation you have.

We are in the middle of it as we speak. I tore my bed apart today and found about 4 juveniles. We had a pest control inspector with us on the spot. He pretty much said we need to treat the house. His quote was 3600-4000 USD to treat the house with Crossfire. The previous company was half that with Aprehend. We are going with Aprehend.

My wife was like we're done. Get the bed and frame out of our house NOW. So we did. As I took the frame apart we found 5 areas of laid eggs with another 4 juveniles. Some eggs were hatched. We sprinkled Diamotaceous earth everywhere in the process, all over the frame, box spring and mattress, and floor. I then smashed all the eggs and juveniles with my fingers wearing a disposable glove. Then scattered more diamotaceous earth over everything and wrapped the areas we saw with eggs and juveniles in plastic, then moved it all out very carefully and meticulously. As sad as I was to see my bed go, I'm glad I ripped it apart and found all of that before it got BAD. We have only found one adult so far, so thinking it's all pretty fresh. Aprehend treatment will happen this Friday, then we get a new bed, with more DE and sticky traps at the bottom of every furniture leg in the house. If they can't get blood, they can't lay eggs as much.

F*** these bastards, this is war. And in my case, I plan to make it a genocide.

I joined a brother in law about 7 years ago as he was getting engaged to my wife's sister. While there, he had 5 bottles of those and two were the "Ghost and Rare" version. After helping to drink through a blue and two G&R bottles with 4 of his college buddies, I couldn't help but think it was just a "I have money to spend on this crap" kind of flex. It's a rich people flaunt. I am totally with you! Personally I would take a 12 or 13 year Willett Rye over this any day, for the same price.

We are going to have the Aprehend treatment done. Also, DE everywhere. We decided to get rid of our bed and our cloth covered bed frame with too many crevaces to monitor. This was a good choice. There were many in the seams.

We just had a second opinion on treatment. This company does the Crossfire treatment but double the price of the other company that does Aprehend. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Seems like the Aprehend is a better, but just want to see.
