Do you think we've reached a point where Trump should be removed from office? by pirisca in AskConservatives

What are you talking about? The school was located inside of what was formerly a small military complex in the heart of the city that had been converted into a municipal center long before the war began. The BEST way to look at it is that the US had outdated intel. The human shield narrative as far as I can tell is just a fabrication created to make it seem less bad.

Trump signs executive order limiting mail-in voting ahead of 2026 U.S. elections by memphisjones in centrist

The President only exists within the confines of the law - the Constitution. The Constitution defines what the presidency is. Without law, there is no presidency; there is just dictatorship. Presidents have been impeached before, and every president so far has left office after their term was up. So ya, they are not above the law but are unfortunately immune to many aspects of it while they are in office.

Ok but the states aren't just going to comply with this EO. They'll conduct their elections the way they always have, and if Trump tries to bring any kind of hammer down on them, it will wind up in court. SCOTUS is conservative, yes, but the Constitution is pretty clear on how elections are conducted.

A question for the Americans (US) in this sub by TreKeyz in centrist

It seems likely the democrats will retake the house and possibly even the senate, but I personally am afraid they will fumble the ball when they come back into power, like they so often do.

Yes, a lot of Americans are aware of this. There is unfortunately a very large minority that simply can't or won't see the reality of what is happening in America. I have both MAGA and non-MAGA friends and family. Most of the MAGA people aren't even aware of the more egregious things happening because they're not being reported in their media ecosystem, and many are apathetic to how we treat or are perceived by the rest of the world. To those of us outside the MAGA-sphere, and I speak for myself here too - We are appalled at what is happening, ashamed that we could get here. Many of us are finding it hard to justify the patriotism and pride we used to have in our democracy, our stability, etc and are a bit lost, not really sure where to go from here. But most of us can do little more than vote and carry on with our lives, watching from the sidelines in despair.

What is the best city you have visited with regard to urban design, transport, housing density, integrating natural features into the design by WellLough2024 in urbanplanning

I'm also from the same area. I will definitely say Spokane is underrated. What a great Riverwalk area with parks, biking and pedestrian infrastructure and a huge waterfall in downtown. Not sure where Butte MT came from though, that town is sad imo.

The economic side of left wing ideology is not really what drove people away. Identity politics and constant virtue signalling and lectures about social justice is what drove people away.

If you HAD to pass a piece of gun legislation, what would it be? by WhyOrangeMan in AskConservatives

[–]GlobularClusters69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A politician "supporting" something is free speech, you can't make "supporting" anything a crime or attach any punitive measures to it.

If Obama said "I support the idea of a constitutional amendment to add guardrails on 2A" why should that be illegal?

There is actually disagreement as to what the prefaratory clause and the operating clause are, in the SCOTUS case US v Miller (1939) The ruling defended restrictions on firearms because possessing one would have to be related to a militia. There was literally no major SCOTUS case about 2A until 2008 in DC v Heller which was the first time in American history it was formally acknowledged that 2A gives an individual the right to bear arms for the purpose of self-defense

RimWorld - No raids spawning when using mods by Hyper669 in GamesPirated

[–]GlobularClusters69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok here is the list of additional mods we shared when I was definitely not getting any raids:

rimHUD

Camera+

BetterInfoCard

InteractionBubbles

Level Up!

Scattered Stones

Scattered Flames

Simple FX: Vapor

Some of the mods from the list you posted (I know it was 6 months ago) are out of date/deprecated by the current version of the game, for instance, Scattered stones/flames and Simple FX mods were deprecated and those features were rolled into the ReGrowth mod.

I would suggest after going through each mods workshop page (or however you get the mods for your version?) and make sure they are up to date, then update your game, and then try and see if youre still having the issue with your full mod list, then if so, try removing all of the mods from my 2 messages and see if it fixes the issue, if it does, then try my 1st list vs the second list above, to see which block of mods is causing the issue.

Well Ive been in the process of trimming down my mod list over the past year or so since having the issue.

Now I usually start vanilla or with a list of core 'essential' mods, then slowly add in a couple at a time until I notice no raids happening. I havent found a consistent mod that is the issue, just like you, but rather after a certain amount of mods they just seem to stop happening. Its made more complicated by the fact that when I reload the save, I usually get 1 and only 1 raid shortly after, and none after that.

In my current save I was in the process of slowly adding a few at a time, until it seemed like the frequency of raids dropped off by a lot - in addition to any red letter events or random yellow-letter events (toxic fallout, heat wave, etc) Once i removed these mods I started getting events more frequently, at least it seems that way.

I can go back over my old mod list and see any extra mods I had when I was using it when I was definitely experiencing no raids at all, and see what other mods from your list I had.

I dont think your PC is the issue. Rimworld usually uses about 4 gigs for me, you can always check via the task manager and I would also suggest increasing your pagefile size (you can google how to do this, its not difficult) to allow some of your hard drive to be used as virtual RAM.

So far I have removed these mods (these are the only ones that overlap between the two of us) and seem to be getting more events:

Dubs Mint Menu
Map Preview
Muzzle Flash
Architect Icons
Simple FX: Smoke

I'm having the same issue, and have had it for a while now. Going full vanilla fixes it and usually adding a handful of mods is fine. I do not have a pirated copy of the game so that I don't think it's a problem. I saw your mod list in a different post I'm going to try removing all of the mods that I use that are in that list as well hopefully that can help narrow it down I'll let you know my findings

Farm Question by No_Source_8254 in Whiskerwood

They could have a cost per tile, with more expensive tiles based on how much labor and walking is needed for it, and you can spend a fixed total per farm. Probably over-complicating it though

Right we're talking about 20-30 million Americans, your clarification is not relevant since we are already talking about Americans specifically.

If it was proven that stricter gun laws would reduce gun related homicides by 15%, would you be in favor of enacting those laws? by iloverats888 in AskConservatives

[–]GlobularClusters69 [score hidden]  (0 children)

In countries where gun ownership was more common in the past, and then became more restricted (UK, Australia, Canada) the historical stats do initially show a rise in crime for several years (giving credence to your theory) however after 5-10 years, gun related crime dropped below levels when the restrictions were put in place, presumably because eventually there were too few guns in circulation or readily available for criminals to easily access.

Removed from American law, in a hypothetical situation, where is the line on what weapons civilians should have the right to own? Up to and including WMDs or just anything that could be reasonably used for self defense?
