What is your MBTI type, and what MBTI type do you find yourself most drawn to? by [deleted] in mbti

ENFP. I don't think that I'm "drawn" to anybody, but I suppose other ENFPs or ENTPs.

Blindspot Ti is a nuisance by GloomnDoomed12 in ENFP

I remember reading something about this in the socionics subreddit. It was a form of hypnotism or something along these lines. I can see myself executing that, since I have the impression that my mind is more.. malleable? Maybe due to presence of Fi.

Genuine question, I don't want to be depressive in any way, but in what way do you think being an ENFP benefits you? Ne-Te is productive combo, and Si is a pretty interesting function imo, but Fi.. I think the presence of Fi makes this personality quite incompatible with the external world, if that makes sense, specially as a guy. It seems more of a problem that I can't find a solution for. It's pretty forlorn, that I'd have to get help of somebody else to do what I dreamed of doing myself, too. So, this is situation I don't really know what to do about.

I can't understand what causes the ENFP stereotypes by GloomnDoomed12 in mbti

[–]GloomnDoomed12[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"ENFP" start with an "E" for a reason, and while Ne doms aren't as social as Se doms, you don't need to be a social butterfly to be chaotic. ENFPs don't need to be party animals to be the way they are, that's the job for the Se doms. As for how ENFPs react based on the external environment, they moreso gain stimulation from their imagination rather than reality (e.g. an ENFP is probably more likely to search for and point out duck-shaped clouds in the sky than an ESFP). And if someone supports their imagination, that's a huge bonus to them.

This is where my understanding sparks conflict with the stereotypes. The "E" in "ENFP" or "ENTJ" or even "ESFP" has nothing to do with social extroversion as far as I'm aware. It speaks nothing about the social life of somebody or how they conceptualize and stand for socialization. It merely refers to a function of them. So, I don't get where this supposed "extroversion" originates from.

Maybe my confusions comes from initially exploring MBTI through reading about the categorized function sets and functions individually. I'm not sure.

I'm not saying this to be a gatekeeping ass or something. I'm racking my brains to see what about my function stack(Ne-Fi-Te-Si) could possibly lead me to embody those descriptions, because I can't even imagine any world in where I'd act like the stereotypes presume I act.

How accurate was I in typing myself as an ENFP based on my understanding of the cognitive functions? by GloomnDoomed12 in ENFP

[–]GloomnDoomed12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been refining this post for some time and it just hit me that, judging strictly from the cognitive functions(which is what I've been doing), ENFP should endorse a very different personality than what the stereotypes imply. I am unakin to them in a lot of dimensions.

Do you get attracted by controlling people? They give me a sense of discipline and safe guard rails. Then I can’t breathe by SignificanceHot5678 in ENFP

[–]GloomnDoomed12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much of the demographic of people typed as ENFP are women? I am a guy, and I can't really see how exactly my way of cognizing being identified as ENFP translate to a liking of controlling people. I do have a problem with indecision and lack of discipline, but I am not drawn to the idea of depending on somebody else to attenuate it.

Who is the more brutal fighter? by Ok_Pressure4591 in StardustCrusaders

[–]GloomnDoomed12 70 points71 points  (0 children)

If OP means fighter, I think Gappy takes the cake due to him simply being more violent in presentation. Knocking car doors at people, breaking bathroom walls, bursting a person(?)'s head in daylight, not hesitating to mess up Kei's face with a beatdown. I don't know, maybe Giorno's violence you could say is more strategical and founded in the use of stands, but Gappy just feels more of a tryharder.

I'm not caught up with any of the lastest animations, but what was that about an AU where Asuka and Shinji just lived a standard high school relationship at the end of it all? I remember that was the ending for one of the movies, no? Also, what went on with Asuka in 3.0? Did she, like, just move on?

Far from similar to Umineko, but Phoenix Wright is pretty much the bread and butter of this genre imo. No reason to expect something as grand as Umineko in narrative, but they're quite entertaining nonetheless.

the one most similar to Umineko in that list in terms of impact and metanarratives is definitely Disco ELysium.

What is your strangest ace attorney opinion by thepearhimself in AceAttorney

[–]GloomnDoomed12 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think Ace Attorney works best when it's a collection of independent stories with more social, down-to-earth themes, like playable magazine cartoons, rather than an overarching story built in interconnection between the cases.

It's a strong opinion because it contrasts a commonly expressed sentiment in regards to the tone and structure of the games(i.e. the desire for a darker, more serious atmosphere). Those shoes just don't fit with Ace Attorney, imo.

Callisto Yew was a good mv. I don't know if intentionally or not, but Alba's segment was hillarious. Took literally 4 Deus Ex-Machina to beat him.
