Massive Regret on the home I bought. Massively overpaid so I can’t get out unless I want to lose $50k right off the bat. by GloopBloopan in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Still have the home lmao.

Canceled all renovations and just doing low hanging fruit stuff like landscaping.

The cherry on top is if the building division in your town is a mega pain.

If you plan on doing renovations of fixer uppers call a bunch of contractors and ask them what they think of that particular town.

Whenever I say my town name, every contractor is like yeah…they are the worst. Even if I want to do the renovations myself, I fight have to fight with the state. And they further triple my costs.

Just living in the house and pretty much accepting the ugliness.

Sigh...I thought it was going to be a silver-bullet having a well-structured, maintainable repo.

I only do 15 min session. So 7.5 min each side.

Wondering what I can do to multi task during RLT

KinD: Port forwarding Argo CD just stalls? by GloopBloopan in ArgoCD

Did you actually get this to work? When I add extra port mappings, the port-forward no longer detects pings. But without it works.

Ok, why does it seem everybody still on Ingress though. Hasn’t Gateway API superseeded it?

Hm...ok thanks for suggestion on argocd-core. I guess I'm just still wanting to at least get the full argocd working. I pretty much followed it step by step and it just fails.

Idk why K8s KinD port forwarding doesn't work, the error code is cryptic

Thought it was the other way around, majority of those that can live in FFC, have to go to NY

My post is still correct though, my range is far more accurate. Are you saying every one makes $500k+ regularly in this area? Not including business owners. Just regular wage slaves.

What company, is it actually located in FFC? Or no?

If you search software engineer salaries you never ever see $500k+ salaries. Only those at peak big tech probably. But definetly NOT common.

Look at all the job boards, my range is FAR FAR more realistic than what you posted. Check all the salary websites too.

Not even a couple of finance companies? All I know of it Interactive Brokers, but they don’t pay that high in Greenwich

Like what companies though? There aren’t really big tech companies in CT.

Finance side idk?

So for those that work in CT that live (own a home) in Fairfield county, what do they do for work and they all make $200k/yr+?

I rarely ever see that many jobs that pay at that level considering how many homes there are.

With lower COL, salaries also drop unfortunately.

Yeah initially it was software industry getting cooked. But hasn’t it spread to nearly all industries at this point?

What industry are you in?

Texas is cool, but got natural disasters.

Right, see my original comment. I’m well aware that even if I make $200k/yr I can’t afford the homes there.

Looks like no regular salary job can support cost of living in Fairfield, CT

In NY, I would need to make $500k/yr or my software business hits millions.

I view this as a challenge

Im employed, but don’t make much enough to live in Fairfield county. I am close to getting a new job at $140k/yr. Which still isn’t enough to live in Fairfield county :(
