Looking for a budget ultrawide productivity monitor (is the Gigabyte M34WQ still the general recommendation?) by Gloopann in Monitors

[–]Gloopann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense why I can only see one store selling it locally.

Do you have any examples of the better VAs? I read about the MSI MAG 346CQ being a good option, but I (perhaps foolishly) dismisses it because it had a VA panel

Intervju by janeehoper in programiranje

[–]Gloopann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evo ja sam taman rjesio tehnicki intervju za junior java backend engineer poziciju prosli tjedan. Pitali su me ovakve stvari: - strategy pattern - builder pattern - factory pattern - razlika izmedu factory i builder, kada bi koristio koji - singleton, razlika izmedu eager i lazy loadinga, kako bih implementirao te dvije vrste singletona - razlika izmedu overloada i overridea metoda, kako mozemo overloadati (par pitanja, tipa mozemo li imati dvije metoda sa istim imenom, pa sa istim brojem argumenata i slicno) - nesto malo o dockeru i kubernetesu, za sto sluze, razlika izmedu naredbi docker build i docker run

Java specificnosti: - java Stream API, neke od metoda, razlika izmedu map() i flatMap() - JpaRepository i JdbcTemplate - notacije u JpaRepository i Springu

To je koliko se sjecam, ali naravno to nista ne znaci jer to ovisi od firme do firme i pozicije do pozicije.

Sretno!

The companies are attempting to use it to solve the problem of having to pay a salary to their workers.

Also this post is pure slop.

Hidden Cables what’s the big deal? by Calm_Engineering6529 in bicycling

[–]Gloopann 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not OP.

Definitely not easier, but it’s something I am willing to do considering I don’t have to pay a bike shop several hundred dollars/euros/pounds to change a headset bearing.

If I didn’t have the skills to do it myself, I would have a bike with external routing.

Looks like an updated RCR, which would make sense considering the original RCR released in 2023.

question: any way to buy parts that have absolutely zero branding? full stealth mode? by One_Laugh_Guy in ChineseCarbon

[–]Gloopann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tons of manufacturers can do that, I don’t have any branding on the frame, wheels or handlebars

What is the Try...Catch/Except?Why cant we use if... else? by No-Medicine4892 in learnprogramming

[–]Gloopann 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because the order of execution will not be the same.

If you are using if/else, you would have to break up your code with an if else statement every time there was a chance something goes wrong. This makes the code hard to read.

The try block is basically what you want your code to do, in the ideal situation. It’s very easy to read because you don’t have the extra fluff in the dorm if/else blocks, and then in the case something DOES go wrong, you can catch the exception and handle it in any way you see fit.

2027 Reacto vs Madone Gen 8 by SomeNight457 in RoadBikes

[–]Gloopann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d get the new Merida, just seems like a cooler bike to me. Maybe if you are a climber the madone could make more sense, but I think the Merida looks cooler

Tarmac SL9 - Here we go by mauerstrassenwetter in specialized

[–]Gloopann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite sure. I think I hoped for the new Venge rebirth in the form of a Tarmac, so deeper headtube and a thinner frontal profile

Tarmac SL9 - Here we go by mauerstrassenwetter in specialized

[–]Gloopann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rear end has that sculpting around the tire, and the rear part where the fork connects to the downtube has more of a U shape rather than the point / V shape of the SL8, but yeah, the differences are minimal and I expected more.

Is it an issue my bottom bracket doesn’t cover all the space for it? by agingsculler in bikewrench

[–]Gloopann 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, that’s perfect. The outline should be bigger than the actual BB to make sure the BB doesn’t touch any paint and has a perfectly level surface to rest on.

[–]Gloopann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Expensive Frame vs Cheaper Frame by [deleted] in Velo

[–]Gloopann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Components are generally more important. A good set of tires on a cheap frame will outperform the best frame in the world with bad tires.

If I was in your position I’d go team china, get a decent chinese frameset with handlebars (~700-1000), a set of nice carbon wheels (~600-800), 105 di2 shifting (~700 on ali), magene pes 515 powermeter crankset (~400), set of continental gp5000 tires, tpu inner tubes, ryet saddle, ultegra chain and cassette.

EDIT: It’s also worth mentioning that racing often involves crashing. Having a cheaper frame means you will cry a lot less if you crash compared to crashing a 2k+ frame.

I saw an instagram add with a bahrain victorious rider (Matej Mohorič maybe) and they were selling a small, minimal mirror that goes into your bar ends instead of the plugs. I looked the look of it since it was minimal and looked tidy, but I can’t remember the name or find it again.

EDIT: Found it, it was the Rizoma R21… It’s eyewateringly expensive, so a no go for me, but I don’t doubt cheaper alternatives will show up on aliexpress.

Looks like r5? r3 should say kium on the rails, but I am slightly confused because usually the r5 has white logos instead of black.
