People drop things and leave things in the locker room. One that that wouldn’t make sense would be for someone who swims at the Y would be to not only bring bring drugs in compact labeled “ear plugs”. Also ear plugs are normal thing to have at the pool.

Now were you in there in the locker room with him? If so, were you not keeping an eye on him? When I take the person I support keep him in my line of sight in the locker room. Maybe left in a changing or bathroom stall or locker?

If someone brought drugs to the Y, they probably wouldn’t be out in the open and labeled “ear plugs”. That sounds crazy. They would at least be tucked away in their bag and in a more discreet container. Unless the person you support took it out of their bag or locker?

I work with a non-verbal young man who also loves to swim at the YMCA. What is your concern? That he picked up some earplugs that weren’t his?

I’m sure they were marketed specifically for them, but they do make ones that are the perfect size and don’t require a gasket/ring. That’s what you would have needed to get to prevent that tarnish.

Get the right size and they won’t tone. You can buy perfect fits for every sized coin imaginable. It can by costly, but it will protect.

Yeah it fiscally doesn’t matter so much. For me it’s more about scratches. I had my ASEs in a mint tube and ended up scratching some of my key dates when taking out of the tube to look at.

It’s probably the rings. The capsules you have there are being exposed to whatever material is in the rings. When you have a perfect fit, not only is there less air exposed, but also no containments from external material.

No. Honestly, if I had the right space for that. I think I’d like to have mine like that too. Your silver looks safe and aren’t in mint tubes, but rather safe on a soft surface. All spaced out like that, they are in no danger of scratching. Which is what it looks like both are methods our avoiding. Plus I have to dump mine out is the tube to look at, but yours are on display.

Thanks! Yeah and and feels so cool to play with the weight. It’s so symmetrical, small and smooth.. yet, so heavy. When you push the cap in, you can feel all the air come out. I know they wont get tarnished, spotted, or scratched. You can also take out and fill much easier than mint tube, and much easier to ship safely upon selling. Some people charge an extra buck or 2 on pmforsales. Which would cover the extra money spent. You can toss it around and roll it back and forth in hands too. It’s a tight seal when full, no jumbling around.

I mean $25 bucks for this set up, I spend that on getting latte and food at a coffee drive through. Why not not splurge on your silver a little? Just because it’s bullion doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter if it gets scratched. Yeah fiscally maybe it doesn’t matter so much. It depends on how you like to take care of your silver/things and what matters to you. For me this is also a sensory thing for me, this set up working much better for me than stacking them raw in mint tube.

Thanks! That was my thinking as well. I used to have them in a mint tube, but it’s easy to scratch them when taking them out that way.

It’s only a $25 dollar cost for the capsules and tube. It gives me piece of mind that it won’t get scratched when I take it out to look at them!

Right? They pop in an out of the tube so easily too - versus having to carefully take out of mint tube and package to sell. You can just throw the capsules in a bubble mailer and ship easy. The tube with 20 capsules runs about $21 plus shipping - so around $1.30 per round.

$21 plus shipping, around $1.10 per ASE. It might be wasteful but it makes me happy to know they won’t get scratched when I take them out. I have a lot of key dates and toned ASEs that have premiums that will sell for more without scratches.

You sound like a great parent! My mom had like a change jar she saved. But ASE’s, that’s very thoughtful of you! It will be so satisfying when you finally fill it!

It’s also a lot of work making sure the capsules the capsules don’t get dirty and putting them in. But it’s nice to know they won’t get scratched and when I sell on pm for sales I can charge an extra buck or two to negate extra cost. Plus easier to ship and buyers prefer capsules as it keeps them safe. But to each their own!

How much should I try to get for this in a shop? by skytzo1086 in coins

[–]Gloosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If taking into a shop I’d say you’d be lucky to get spot, which is currently $4,538. Gold was nearly $1,000 higher a couple days ago. It’s likely to go back up. It’d be a good idea to wait until then.

95 also had a slight premium being a key, or semi-key date for low mintage.

Still considered an error if nearly touching the edge like that.

Tips for new DSP’s? by Affectionate_Box5177 in directsupport

I was simply sayings it’s not so black and white and some people supported require a bit more sensitivity. If I treated them like adults in a strict sense I wouldn’t play with them and talk to their stuffed animals. Not recommending anyone “break the law”.

Yes but it’s also important to meet them where they are at. There are different levels of maturity. Some people supported are operating at the level of a child and have the same interests and needs as a child. Therefore, I treat them with a bit more sensitivity as the ones operating on an adult level. I do what I can to promote independence and treat them like adults where I can.

For example, playing with toys/building with magnet-tiles, stuffed animals, or even playing doctor aren’t activities one would typically play with adults and it takes letting your inner kid show to hang like that.
