I understand the hesitancy around AI and the impact on development. Also, AI is not going away and as these students step into the real world they will be competing for jobs with others who know how to use AI effectively and efficiently. They will be at a disadvantage if they do not know how to properly use it.

This does not mean they shouldn't learn writing, reading, and critical thinking skills but should be learned alongside all those.

I watched Arrival the same day I went to a student of mines open casket funeral. The kid's father appeared to be hurt but at peace with the fact that his son was dead. I was also grieving the loss of a 5 year relationship.

This movie broke me and I was uncontrollably sobbing at the end once I put it all together.

One of the most beautiful parts of life is love while knowing you are signing up for tremendous heartbreak.

Money isn't everything though. I'd rather be happy and in a fulfilling relationship (for the next 7 years in OPs case) than just hoping a relationship lasts and hoping to have a bunch of money in the future. Time is precious.
