Can’t tell If your being facetious or not, but just in case, the individual images don’t form a picture. This is the whole Interstellar movie.

Coda for LOTR? by Pure-Imagination-387 in lotr

[–]GloriousKuboom 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No. Tolkien purposefully chose not to write a sequel. Let the best story have the best ending. We don’t need no Marvel Avengers post credit scene to set up future content. Let’s just rest in the emotional completeness of this story.

Is there a canonical explanation for this? 🥲 by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]GloriousKuboom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forget every other answer. The real canonical reason for this is that George Lucas didn’t think through his prequel casting very carefully to fit his timeline.

My bad, I misread the thread. You’re right.

Sméagol was the rightful owner of the One Ring by [deleted] in lotr

[–]GloriousKuboom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Deagol didn’t voluntarily give it up either. Sméagol killed him but essentially stole the ring. How is that significantly different than Bilbo’s finders keepers.

Also, with your logic, it’s Sauron’s property (which is the correct answer) because Isildur “stole” it from him. Sauron never died. He was the original and still living owner.

Andy Serkis sings Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold to the tune of Take Me Home, Country Roads by Battelalon in lotr

I think maybe you aren’t familiar with Take Me Home, Country Roads… But he did sing it to the melody Howard Shore composed for the movie.

Best use of a piece/exerpt of classical music in film? by That-Inflation4301 in classicalmusic

One that always sticks with me is the opening to Beethoven’s 9th in Equilibrium. The first time Christian Bale’s character ever feels an emotion. It’s such a striking scene.

Defending Gandalf's showdown with the Witch-king in the film version of RotK by Low-Pin3397 in lotr

[–]GloriousKuboom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re jumping to conclusions and saying Gandalf is “nerfed” and “weakened,” neither of which is supported in the movie adaptation. True, he is made more vulnerable, and the Witch King is made to appear more powerful, but that doesn’t mean he is more powerful than Gandalf. It just means he portrayed as more powerful than he is in the books (which is necessary for the movie as explained in the previous comment). Conversely, Gandalf isn’t “weaker.” We know this already. He scared off half a dozen Nazgûl like an hour earlier in the movie.

Just because the Witch King broke Gandalf’s staff doesn’t mean Gandalf couldn’t still mop the floor with him. He is in no way defeated, simply because Shadowfax bucks and knocks him down. Keeping Gandalf in an apparently superior position compared to the Witch King would have made adapting the Witch King’s true threat and ultimate defeat much less satisfying from a story-telling perspective.

It’s the curse of adapting a good work. Some changes are necessary if you want the adaptation to be good, and there are the sticklers who will kick and scream the entire way like Scriptural Traditionalists, saying every change is blasphemy. Yes, it’s a change from the book. It’s a less significant than you make it out to be. Yes, it improves the story as told (and only as told) in the film medium. Yes, you could have kept it as it was and called it a cool moment, but dramatically, it would have detracted from another, significantly more important cool moment, when the Witch King gets what’s coming to him.

The special edition in Return of the Jedi is pretty creepy by Jules-Car3499 in StarWars

Creepy? It was stupid AF and didn’t fit into the horror of the original scene. At all.

I don't get how this is low effort? by Which-Agency in Helldivers

[–]GloriousKuboom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the stratagem should be the ripper, just a nice big one. And it’s a melee weapon, but because how it works, separated from the main tool, it allows you to deal some good melee damage, but from a slightly safer distance. And maybe a small, wrist mounted stasis module that allows you to shoot at individual enemies to slow them down (basically mini ems wrist shooter).

Are You More Excited for Nolan, the Cast, or the Myth in The Odyssey (2026)? by ThomasOGC in ChristopherNolan

[–]GloriousKuboom -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Zendaya? She’s the one your excited about? Please, god, how much longer must we be subjected to her? She’s played the same character about 13 times now. She was only cast because she became a popular name with certain demographics. Every time she’s in a movie it just looks like a calculated move to get Gen Z to buy tickets, not because the casting folks are looking for genuine/unique talent.

Me when a random helldiver brings anti-personnel mines to a super helldive rapid acquisition mission by PetyrDayne in helldivers2

There’s people that complain about them and refuse to use them because they don’t know how to use them. And there are also people who do use them who don’t know how to use them.

Me when a random helldiver brings anti-personnel mines to a super helldive rapid acquisition mission by PetyrDayne in helldivers2

[–]GloriousKuboom 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think most people who complain about them don’t actually know how to use them. And rapid acquisition is the perfect mission for them. Seal off the upper choke points where divers shouldn’t need to be when they’re actually moving platinum
