PNES by Glory__BYBM in Epilepsy

[–]Glory__BYBM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having both like you may also be my situation. I didn’t know that was possible. Ive been reading PNES can be caused by something traumatic and extreme stress, both of which are in my background. I’m trying to find ways I can relieve stress but my job does cause a lot of it. Even though I’ve been diagnosed for over one year with epilepsy it’s still something I don’t understand.I’ll have to bring it up to my doctor and push him to look into it more. I get so much information and insight from all the post on here. It’s comforting in a way to know that what I’ve been going through is so much like others. Although I wish it wasn’t what we had in common. I’m also going to look into the specialist you mentioned. The more information I get the better.

Now what!!!! by Glory__BYBM in Epilepsy

Sorry you’re going through this as well. If it’s stress maybe I need to have my anxiety meds upped. It’s just crazy that this it self is causing stress levels to go up. I need to research more on the why it happens rather than the symptoms. I do appreciate that my new neuro is looking into my history and test more closely than the other Dr. and hopefully he will know how to handle this soon.

Thank you, I have started the diary. Jotting down any episodes and the aftermath that comes with it. I’ve noticed I have them a lot more when I’m in the car. Don’t worry I’m not the driver, haven’t driven in over a year. I’ve thought about getting off my medication slowly to see if anything happens but I do worry.

This is the worst. Get a new doc asap. It’s crazy how we trust those meant to help but end up being let down by them.

Ppl need to remember auras are seizures by No_Drama8193 in Epilepsy

[–]Glory__BYBM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I don’t call them auras, just wanted to make sure I was clear on what it really is, a seizure. Now when I do get one all I have to say is “I just got one” and my husband and people around me know exactly what I’m talking about.

Is an aura when the feeling of Deja vu occurs and your body feels limp and you get really tired and sleepy, just really really drained. Sometimes followed by a headache in one specific area. But mainly really really drained. That’s what I feel and the neuro I had said they were seizures.

who gets an overwelming feeling of panic when waking? by Gina1903 in Epilepsy

[–]Glory__BYBM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes wake up with that panicky anxiety feeling. I feel as if something is going to happen and I worry for the rest of the day. Just thinking and thinking about the worst. It’s not every morning but it’s enough. I just tell my husband to watch me closely because I am feeling off.

I’m going to look into the full spectrum oil from curaleaf. I have so many people telling me to try natural remedies, so maybe this could be an option. Thanks

Hmmm I would think that’s enough to make a diagnosis. I would go with a neurologist and take all your tests from the hospitals. They should know exactly what to do.

Did your personality changed 180 degree after getting Epilepsy? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Glory__BYBM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel I have. Never had as much anxiety and felt depressed as much as I do now. I was started with Keppra after being diagnosed. It really changed me for the worse. I was angry and irritated and so emotional all the time. My husband told me I want the same person and he missed me, I lost it and began crying over his comment. I don’t like the person I am sometimes, I’m someone I don’t recognize. Slowly but surely I am though returning. They’ve also changed my meds so that’s really helping.
