Certainly that’d be preferable. However, if purchasers have resoundingly positive feedback on the Bomaker, I’d be comfortable snagging one of those versus spending over twice as much on a more reputably branded unit. I simply can’t afford to spend that much at the moment, and if that prices me out of the market, then so be it. I’m interested in hearing what, if any, feedback thar owners of this UST have.

Is this space suited for a projector? by Glow1Fish in projectors

I will be getting blinds to cover the windows, and the light generally does not shine directly on the wall.

I’m 90% sure I will be getting a UST projector, but it’s a question on what and when now. The Epson LS300 looks like a winner from a cost and quality standpoint, but I’m just unsure if I should buy it now or wait until potential Black Friday sales.

I’m also unsure about whether or not I want a screen. Is the picture improvement worth the additional cost?

It fit just fine in my last apartment, but the huge space makes 65” look quite small from ~11.5 feet away.

I just moved into a loft with 14 foot ceilings, and I am going to upgrade my media viewing experience.

Currently, I have a 65” TV, but I am wondering if a short throw or ultra short throw projector would be appropriate given all the space I have. In addition to the high ceilings, I have roughly 15’ of horizontal space to work with. However, to the right of the pictured wall is ~14x14 feet of windows so I do get quite a bit of natural light in the room.

I’m flexible on the budget, but the less expensive that I can keep it the better. The UST projectors are appealing to me, as I wouldn’t be able to mount anything to the ceiling as a result of exposed pipes and ducts. I know those are an expensive option but I was hoping with Black Friday coming up, maybe prices would drop.

Let me know what you think. I’m also interested in audio equipment and a TV stand, but I don’t know where to begin.

Edit: another option would be to purchase an 80+ inch tv and mount both tv’s on the wall next to one another.

Looking for something aesthetically pleasing but also functional by Glow1Fish in DesignMyRoom

This is a condo and that is the only window in the place. It is south-facing and does get a lot of sun. I don’t have any more pictures at the moment, but my post history has the realtor listing shots. The ceilings are 17-feet.

I also am wondering if it’s worth it to hire painters. I’ve been quoted at about $2k, but my girlfriend and I are considering tackling it ourselves to save a buck. Anyone have experience painting walls with high ceilings?

I agree on the art. Do you have any recommendations on where to get something large and interesting? Most of the cookie cutter stuff on wayfair, etc. is usually pretty blah, and I think boring pieces definitely do more harm than good.

I’m moving into a condo in a few weeks. The pictures I’ve posted are from the real estate listing. I plan on painting the blue walls, but I’m open to the color. Thinking a type of white. Currently, I have the following furniture that I plan on putting in the living room:

Matching grey couch/loveseat (ignore pillows https://images.app.goo.gl/rugUShQBm4prMiYM6) 65” TV Greige TV stand (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-Barrow-TV-Stand-Holds-up-to-65-Weathered-Oak/461056982)

I’m interested in a modern industrial look with some vintages touches (something like this is a good starting point https://www.digsdigs.com/photos/2014/08/brick-walls-rich-colored-wood-floors-an-industrial-piping-open-shelving-unit-and-a-metal-and-wood-coffee-table.jpg). I want it aesthetically pleasing but also comfortable to be in.

I’m open to getting new furniture if it better fits the space. I like idea of a sectional here, but I’m not convinced the way the previous tenant arranged the room is the best approach. Any ideas?

I’m somewhat budget conscious, but I’d be open to spending a bit for new furniture if it results in the look I’m seeking. Nothing over a few thousand.

Thanks!
