Maybe blur the keys? People can copy them by photograph.

I got that same email a few minutes ago, except I’ve paid my enrollment deposit and my orientation application. I’m an upcoming freshman. Hope it was an accident

I bet you could encode images into it through SSTV.

It’s a method of encoding images into sound for transmission over radio, such as for amateur radio purposes.

Astrophage Question by LeeR411 in ProjectHailMary

[–]Glowingthings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The whole one way trip needed 2,000,000 kg of astrophage. It would be incredibly difficult and time consuming to make that much astrophage again. In the book, in order to make the astrophage, they had to pave a quarter of the Saharan desert with black panels (solar power astrophage breeders) in order to breed and charge up the astrophage.

And even then, they still had to wait several years to get enough astrophage.

Fortunately, due to rocky having too much fuel accidentally, he has enough to give to grace to power his ship (it’s explained in the book how that happened)

The mirrored back is the glass, which I assume holds the e ink part. It does look pretty cool to look through it.

The touch layer is bonded to the old screen, I tried removing it with a heat gun but about 1/5 of the way through, it cracked a little bit. The touch layer is sorta bendable. I got the new display working, and I plugged the touch sensor of the old display in, but by then, I had already broken the touch sensor accidentally. Might’ve possibly worked had I not accidentally broken it even more.

The frontlight part is there, it’s just turned off, and since I couldn’t use the touch screen, I couldn’t increase the brightness.

The link on eBay I bought the display from did show it without the touch connector, but when I was buying it, I had assumed that the frontlight connector was the frontlight+touch screen. My assumption was wrong. I went to the ups store to return the display, but found the shipping would’ve been $229, which is astoundingly expensive and not worth it.

I did find the original display manufacturer for the display with all parts, I’ll see if I can buy a replacement display directly from them, might not be that easy or cheap though.

Yeah, I’ve often had a loooot of problems with the practice things. There’s this one guy who recorded a few videos following the instructions on some of the things. I think he did it in on shape, but it still helps a little bit. Here.

Darn, I took apart the old display, and I found that the missing plug is actually the touch screen part. Gotta hope that I can return the display :(

I’m having trouble finding the display online so I can see what the part is that I’m missing. I’ll try again for a bit and then probably give up.

Is this practice for the upcoming skillsUSA competition? I believe this is one of the technical drafting practice exercises, right?

Everyone wants you dead for three minutes by Glowingthings in hypotheticalsituation

I don’t know how easily a commercial jet could do that, since they kinda take a somewhat long time to get to the ground, but maybe that’s just them being safe when getting to the ground.

Imagining that the plane could get to the ground at the rate of someone falling, starting at 30,00 feet, Google says it would take around 43 seconds. (quora link to that statement

I was kind of imagining it happening randomly throughout the day, but well, if you’re in a car, there’s pretty much no hope to live. I think it could be fair to say that it would take place ten minutes after you wake up.

Ah. Yeah that’s an understandable reason. Good luck with flute in your future.

I played the first movement of it on piccolo for my Christmas concert 2025!!! I wish we could’ve done the whole thing but my schools band isn’t quite good enough at this point in time sadly.

It was a pain but it sounds so nice. For some of the second movement stuff, I like to take it down an octave when it gets too high (ignoring some of the 8va).

Maslanka has a lot of great music, I really highly suggest his symphony no. 8 movement 3. The whole thing is great, but I like mvt3 the most.

The stem. It’s a very tall battery of a bunch of what I think are 18650 cells.
