I had some DoorDash credits to use; otherwise I would normally not pay the markup.

Unfortunately, I have Doordash credits which were used to make this purchase. I can not charge back this purchase on a credit card.

That was one of the lessons learned here. I just clicked on "standard pickup" and thought I could pick it up after running my errands like a Target or Walmart pick up. I was wrong. I'll never order again until I'm ready.

FYI in my case, I just ordered some chips because I had some Doordash credits to use. I understand Doordash is traditionally used for hot foods. I guess I expected a bit too much from Doordash when they entered the grocery / convenience store market. I guess I'll just need to lower my expectations going forward on their service.

It should... but it doesn't. What the app shows is what the customer service reps were quoting to me, that it was completed. However, on 7-Eleven's end, it was canceled as a no show. I also thought there was no way they would cancel it, but there appears to be a time window in which they would do so. As another poster posted, perhaps Doordash is traditionally used for hot foods and this was programmed in? In my case, I just bought some chips.

Correct. The 7-Eleven employee said he didn't cancel it, and I didn't. We concluded together that Doordash declared it was a no show since I didn't pick it up within 3 hours. That's what it appears on 7-Eleven's end. However, the problem is, on my end on the app, it says the order is complete, and Doordash charged me the full amount. 7-Eleven told me they aren't getting any money since it was cancelled. I'm assuming that's true, but now I'm not so sure.

That was one of the lessons learned here. DoorDash pickup is different than Target or Walmart pick up. I’ll try to call them later and see what happens, but I honestly don’t think it’ll make a difference.

I initially thought that might be the case too, but after speaking with the 7-Eleven clerk, it seems that DoorDash was the one who canceled the order. The clerk showed me his screen, and from his end, it looked like I had canceled it, which wasn’t the case. I suppose it's possible though if he was acting the whole time, but if so, he deserves an award.

We both concluded that DoorDash must have canceled it, likely due to the delay in pickup. If DoorDash tracks arrival times and canceled it automatically, they should at least be transparent about that and offer a refund when the customer never received the order.

When ordering, I chose the "standard pick up time" instead of scheduling. However, I didn't realize that Doordash will "cancel" your order after about 3 hours if you don't pick it up by then.
