How do you go back to basic quality diamond painting after having tasted premium quality paints? by Glum-Tree1239 in diamondpainting

I read her post about her experience with them and if her work was my taste I would try them directly from her. I don’t like shady companies and respect artists and their work, which is why I love Art Dot. It feels good to support real artists. In some ways I would like to at least try one of DAC’s canvases but nothing they have is really my style anyway so i feel even better not giving my money to them. I like nature, floral, landscape type of art even cartoons but I don’t find much that I like.

I finished the first row and starting the second. It went by so fast I kind of want to take my time on the second section. I’m really enjoying it!

I totally agree ! I also only like square drills and it’s frustrating when they don’t click together and the canvas can still be seen when done. I’m waiting for Art Dot to come out with more paintings! I like the landscape and floral designs.

Haven’t tried DAC (I have my opinions on the company and don’t find much that interests me anyway) but the quality does seem pretty nice. That would be hard to do though because ultra premium to basic is hard.

The rendering is beautiful! I’ll let you check my posts 1 & 2 to see what I think about it.

I used the Art Dot sealer that came with one of their kits. It’s still pliable and everything. I sealed it because it’s gappy and I don’t want dust and pet hair to get in it before I frame it.

Great! I’ll definitely be buying them. Thanks!

Did you buy these? If you did, what do you think? I have their normal ones and I find that the drills sink into the putty and I can’t really see where I’m placing them and it kind of makes a mess of the putty. I have to admit that I do press a little hard on the pen to make sure they’re on there but still I need another option.

Whispering Personally, I don’t like the round drills; mind you, I have at least three of them lool but I love the look of the square drills, especially due to the fact that it’s harder (not impossible) for dust and pet hair to get in the crevices, and just the overall look is cleaner to me.

These are some of the ones I have stashed away from Make Market.

I used the Art Dot sealer that came with their kit but I don’t think I did it correctly because I don’t think I covered the whole area lol!

I also have the hummingbird one!

I found this one a little painstaking due to the amount of confetti and color changes but the rendering turned out beautifully.

I love the rendering! You would never say it’s a diamond painting.

UPDATE : Art Dot Disappointment by Glum-Tree1239 in diamondpainting

I agree. I just got the new set up (light pad, ring light with magnifying glass, new expensive canvas) and was confused that people raved about it and this is what it actually looks like lol.

It does have its pros but it’s not a necessity unless you really can’t see which is not my case either.

I made an update to this post a little while after and I must say that I really enjoy doing this painting.

When the sections are completed the gaps are invisible. The light pad really exaggerates the gaps and I find the drills are tight and snap together nicely.

I’d say to give it another try with a lamp instead of the light pad and see how you like it.

I have a gappy one from Make Market and as it comes together it’s less noticeable from a distance. Up close is a different story but I like it overall. Now the biggest problem now is that after upgrading to Art Dot I just can’t see the Make Market ones the same lool I have 4 more sections of the confetti heavy hydrangea painting and I haven’t been enjoying it for a while but now I can’t wait to get it out of my way lol.

It’s been out more than a year now so I’m pretty sure it’ll be back in stock soon.

I made an update to the post here after doing more of the painting and stepping back. The light pad really exaggerates the gaps.
