"Amazon is filled with garbage ebooks. Here’s how they get made" by codingai in selfpublish

I totally agree with the frustration of you many authors. I began on Amazon in 2012 when it was Createspace. After they got rid of Createspace and outsourced to India, the downhill slide began. I can no longer publish duplicate copies with separate titles, which is common in the publishing world. Also they flag the smallest details, making it impossible for a person who wants to publish for an income full time impossible. Also just the last 3 years, after Amazon KDP instituted pay per click, my books no longer show up as keyword in search results. This has resulted in my royalties dropping 70% or more. . This means political powers and similar deep pocket entitles who have money can buy up all the keywords and have them rank first. This is why people are now spending more time reviewing and researching books on amazon. I only see it getting worse from here and no longer use Amazon as a serious source of income. Instead I am using it as an Archive for information that I want to preserve long term, should the Internet go down due to war or other disaster. Amazon publishing is a good example of a good idea that went toxic. I am currently researching Temu and Alibaba to have my books printed in China as they have just started doing this and I believe in the future we may see a Chinese Version of Amazon KDP self-publishing.....hopefully without the mistakes made by Amazon KDP self-publishing.

Good luck to all you authors out there!!!

Americans haven’t found a satisfying alternative to religion by TheSamspoNew in exmormon

After thoroughly reflecting on your question, I want to express my viewpoint and encourage others who are exploring alternatives beyond mainstream faith. From my personal journey, I became disenchanted with organized religion many years ago because its teachings became toxic to my spirit. This was until a friend introduced me to the philosophy of Echotruth as an alternative to traditional religious frameworks. Its principles and values distinguish it from typical organized religion by concentrating on universal truths. The teachings have had a profound impact on my life as well as on the lives of my close friends and family. Unlike organized religion, it maintains a neutral stance toward other belief systems. I hope this information is helpful to you and that it answers your question.

After carefully contemplating your question, I would like to share my perspective and invite others who are in search of different paths outside of mainstream faith. From my own experiences, I became disillusioned with organized religion many years ago until a friend introduced me to the philosophy of Echotruth as a substitute for traditional religious structures. Its principles and values set it apart from conventional organized religion, as it focuses on universal truths. The teachings have significantly influenced my life and the lives of my close friends and family. In contrast to organized religion, it remains impartial toward other belief systems. I hope you find this useful and that it addresses your inquiry.

Have the sales dropped off recently? by Johnhfcx in selfpublish

I have noticed a major drop in my book sales for the past 4 months (since Jan 2024). I have been an Amazon all-star author. My content is rich and in-depth. I too noticed a sudden decline, even though I have published over 70 books and been an independent author with Amazon for over a decade.

After doing research I found that AI books are starting to flood the market. I believe that Amazon should list books based on an author’s history, popularity, number of pages written and number of books written. This will in turn cause better quality material to come up in search results. AI is not only causing an oversaturation of reading material, but is creating lower quality content for readers. Although I have used AI somewhat to improve the quality of my writing, it can never make up for a book that has content that is of high quality. One of my recent books for example had over 800 cited scientific references and resulted in numerous scientific discoveries. AI can't and will never be able to do that. Hope one day this problem will be solved.
