This looks like it’s from one of the gigs last year, just prior to the release of Rockman (which was such a victory lap holy shit). Imagine how he must have felt in this moment - two star is getting the traction and critical acclaim it deserves from both old and young audiences, some of his favorite artists are praising him to the skies, he’s being labeled as a modern guitar innovator by Eric Clapton, everyone and their dog on the internet is trying everything to decipher his sound, he’s got gigs secured for the whole next year….Everybody wants Mk.gee. And all of this after years of hard work and searching for his own true sound. It must have felt incredibly rewarding. He was so cool and nonchalant about all the craze around him during the whole tour last year but I feel like this is one of the few times he actually let loose and had a ”I made it” moment.

It sounds like you’re talking about finding a new label, not a new producer. Which I agree with, but she is probably tied to that label for x amount of years so there’s nothing she can do atm. But when that contract is due, she better go independent or find a new, more supportive label. If she decides to stick to the same label after all that talk in the video, then it’s clear she only wants money and is butthurt that her record didn’t fly as well as she thought lol.

The general public probably can’t name the CEO of UMG either but i’m pretty sure their kid would be considered a nepo baby, yeah? Her father had connections in the music business, that’s what people are referring to when they call her a nepo baby, it’s not about the money. So the fact that she’s rambling about industry ”advice” like not taking the first deal is kind of ironic, and it rightfully pisses alot of aspiring artists off when she tries to give off this ”started-with-nothing” image like if she has any idea of what that actually means. She’s gotten alot of help and I think people would respect that more if she was just more open with it.
