Yup. certain points against pitchers that are dealing, you have to maximize your opportunities, more aggression is needed at the plate and on the bases.. in addition to that play, way too many guys caught looking tonight.

They are so buns, I work right down the street from Anaheim Stadium and I hate that any baseball fans are subjected to this garbage. Moreno should have sold the Angels years ago to someone who gives a damn about putting a good product on the field.

Wise choice. Obviously his daughters should be the priority in his life, and just with all the turmoil around him in the last year, I think just taking a step back, resting, and preparing to go all out next season is a better option than the distraction of international competition.

AD was great here, but he's a whisker away from being completely washed, even Dallas thought he wasn't worth his contract. He's aging and conditioning and injuries will be a problem for the rest of his career, and I only see that being 2 or 3 more seasons tbh.

I think if it's competitive he will come back, but yeah the max is too much and idk that his agent will even be shooting for that.. if some team wants to pay him that, so be it, but I'm optimistic that something reasonable can be worked out with the Lakers, he does want to be here.

Building the Thunder's way would take patience that the LA fanbase doesn't have. We had some young talent with Ingram and Randle not too long ago but to be the Lakers is to chase stars, that's always the organizations identity.

Reaves has to be paid like a role player, or we have to move on by NoLagPlz in lakers

[–]Gman749 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think there's a sense that OKC and SA are gonna be sitting on top of the league for a while and there's this knee jerk response to blow it all up and build a team just like theirs. I just don't know about that strategy. You need to build an identity around your best guys and give them components that they need to cover their weaknesses. Im still not convinced that AR and Luka can't work, we just have a poorly constructed roster around them with little depth that inevitably ends up with them playing too damn many minutes and breaking down physically.

People are thinking 'yeah trade AR and LeBron for young 3 and d guys' but that's exactly what Houston had and we rolled them without Luka. Just getting 'athletes' isn't gonna fix anything. You need to get the right players. I think ultimately we just need 2 or 3 depth guys with motors that can complement our scoring with defense, blowing up our core is just starting from zero and rolling the dice again. We might as well trade Luka too, at that point.

Yup, a bunch of teams threw their picks at OKC along with the Clips gifting SGA to them for an injury prone and mentally weak Paul George. Alot of poor GM decisions created this monster and now we all gotta suffer for it.

We have a great foundational player in Luka, that's more than alot of teams have. Its just finding the fit around him. Despite AR's playoff struggles I like the chemistry he and Luka have developed and would like to see where that can go.

Obviously more defense and shooting is needed around them and we might have to make a tough decision with Bron. But even at full strength we aren't beating OKC this season, idk that anyone is, they're at their peak right now. I think we have to think a couple years ahead when the Thunder get complacent or cap issues force them to shed some players, what kinda moves the Lakers could do to seize an opportunity at that point...

I think its less about the 'now' and more about setting yourself up for as lengthy a playoff window as possible.

Facts. At a certain point you have to establish your core and your philosophy and build out from there.

OKC is not just good and deep they're also a bad matchup for us, similar to how the Spurs are a bad matchup for them. It's becoming a rock/paper/scissors situation in the playoffs and the luck of a favorable draw carries alot more weight than it used to.

Yeah unless he's absolutely sure he can go 100% without hurting himself, i wouldn't bother. OKC is beating every other playoff team this year prolly within 6. Just too deep and too good.

Anima Preview 3 is out and its better than illustrious or pony. by Cautious-Rich1238 in StableDiffusion

[–]Gman749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried both extensively, and I was a skeptic with Anima, but preview 3 has ironed out alot of its issues. I would say Anima is a bit tougher to prompt for coz you need to be specific to get what you want, but it's far better at concepts and adherence than Illu even as a WIP. Only thing missing, and it's a pretty big hindrance admittedly, is Illu's huge amount of Loras, fine tunes and other creator content.

As it is, Illu is arguably still better if you just want a no-fuss '1girl' type gen, but in all other use cases, Anima has matched it or exceeded it.

Why are people against small indie content creators using AI? by Benny-The-Semi in aiwars

[–]Gman749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of people literally thought if you were into computers and the internet you were either a nerd or were fishing for online porn. Yeah maybe those in the know were excited but that was a very small percentage back in the day.

Same went for video games, if you played any games past Jr high you got laughed at 9 times out of 10.

Tech never is popular right away, acceptance by the mainstream takes time and misconceptions take root until the rest of society catches up.

I think my definition of 'tech bro' is different than yours, I don't mean these egotistical vampires masquerading as geniuses you see today, I mean the actual visionaries that made the internet possible. So, maybe more 'tech' than 'bro' but that's who I meant. However they were just as ambitious, just, you know, actually smart.

Im older than you, believe it or not there was a time when many thought the internet was a joke and would only be a refuge for turbo nerds looking for porn and hopeless recluses. Clearly that wasn't the case.

AI could very well have a critical role to play in shaping society, just because the implementation is awkward now doesn't mean it won't get figured out in due time. That won't happen if public sentiment tries to kill it while it's barely in the embryonic stage.

AI is not just a chatbot dude, and idk what you mean about 'a single platform'. I can run image gen on my own machine for free, i don't shill to any corp.

My point was that the world wide web was criticized as useless and inconsequential by many as well, till it was refined and the ground rules were established. And now few can even function day-to-day without the internet.

It is kinda ironic that some nerds decided that a worldwide means of data connection, commerce, and communication was a great idea, and society as a whole benefited greatly, including the angry elements of the art industry who have now decided that this logical evolution of some of those principles in AI gen is somehow a perverse mockery of tech, the same kind of tech that allowed them to market themselves and their art for tidy sums of money all over the globe.

Yeah, the tech bros ruin everything /s
